Street Fighter 4 will have like 16-18 characters on console. That's kinda small these days, but Street Fighter 4's gonna be boss.

A Street Fighter game without Ryu isn't a SF game at all, and I don't even play with the guy. 3rd Strike had the idea of a mostly new cast and well... Thank God the fighting engine was on point (parries FTW).

it would be retarded if they had all the characters from Mortal Kombat on the MK/DCU game. Half of them are boring and have very small roles in the MK mythos so having them in a big mash up with another universe is dumb.

Plus this game is meant to revamp the MK franchise and they are going to do it with all the classic characters that were in the game when it exploded in popularity.

They also hinted that a character from shaolin monks is going to be in the game in the podcast they have, so the most odvious hint would be Kung Lao, but there was a whole gallery of MK2 fighters in it, so who knows.

Joker is not really known for being anything of a fighter. Not sure about the comics, but he just isn't, not at all in the films. I kinda feel they shoulda used his spot for someone who has some Kombat credentials.

Do I like the Joker, hell yeah, but in a MK game? I dunno. They coulda used someone else for that spot - like BANE.

The games focus is the full use of the characters superpowers.... so it doesnt matter if he can throw down fisticufs... hes got an acid flower, millions of knives, bombs, and whateer else he can fight with.

A website in spanish is saying that the Final Roster is going to include Johnny Cage, Kabal, and Raiden for MK and WonderWoman, power girl, Hawkman, and the Back Canary for DCU. It says that they have been confirmed but not released.

I wonder if there will be any hidden characters this time around. Pretty good oppurtunity to sneak in a couple DC badasses in there with that.

What I am wondering is who the 'boss' will be. Will it be a MK character or a DC character or some gay combination of the two? I think it should have to be someone new entirely so as not to be unfair to one of the two sides, personally.

Boon said there is a good chance for secret characters, and the description of the game on the site says that conquerers from both worlds will be merged together.
