No it was shit.

If they had made the movie of the book it would have had a chance at being a decent flick (I'm still waiting in hope that one day that will happen). I hate the way they destroyed one of my favourite Stephen King short stories.

I'd love to see a faitfhul adaption of "Bachman's" Running Man, but there's no way in hell you're ever going to see it with its original ending post-9/11.

As for Death Race, it looks godawful by just about all standards, but what's even worse is that they stripped away everything that could have been awesome from the original Death Race 2000. I mean, really, how do you pass up on a trans-continental road race where the winner's determined by how many pedestrians they run over? Come on!

It could be done, it just needs to be set in France or England, or somewhere no one gives a shit about.
