I've actually noticed this long before reading this.

Seems he isn't happy unless he's got the title, or in the title match. Unfortunately, I think thats the monster they created.
Similar to Goldberg, he's a main eventer that is boring and seems lost without the title being the focus of his fued or storyline.
At the same time, if he has it too much that gets boring to the audiences and unfair to the talent and promotion as a whole.

I wonder what his ego was like last spring when they put him into a filler match with Umaga for Wrestlemania.

I don't know what the solution to this problem is, but if he isn't happy that's his problem. It's not like he's being buried. He needs to find a way to be interesting and take comfort in his uppercard position when he isn't in THE main event.

He's got a decent amount of mic skills, character and charisma, but his character is still mostly one dimensional.
Him and the company need to work together at fleshing out his persona and character in a way so that he can be interesting beyond just a supermonster face who holds the title, or is going after it.

The closest they've come to this was in his fued with Shawn Michaels. He needs more of those, because as it is he's very simple and limited storywise. By developing a persona he can stay busy with personal fueds and angles like most other main eventers are able to when not in the title picture, and at the same time remain interesting and not seem lost or de-pushed.

I don't agree with him, but I see what Batista means. You list the top stars of the WWE, and you maybe say John Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker and then Batista. Considering he was so big in 2005, I can sort of understand his frustration that if he left tomorrow, after four World Title reigns, he still wouldn't be a shoe-in for the Hall of Fame.

That being said, I think Batista is a selective worker with an ego problem. He can have good matches when he wants to, but otherwise he can be a real bore in the ring. His Superman character is really quite snooze-inducing, and he only really worked as a suave character back in 2005. It was like he was still a smart heel, but he just turned his attention to taking out the bad guys. He was more anti-hero than hero, if you will.

After his epic title win at WrestleMania 21, I didn't know how Batista could be sustained as a top face for so long, and was a little worried he would fizzle out. Well, he sort of did fizzle out, but he's won two more World Heavyweight Championships, and been apart of countless main events.

Personally, I think a heel turn right now for Dancin' Dave would be beautiful. Return to his Evolution roots and be more of an asshole who doesn't give a fuck. Batista Bomb Rey through a table because he can. Tell Ric to fuck off when he asked him what's up. The WWE does, however, probably need to keep this guy happy. The only good Batista is a motivated Batista, and if he goes to TNA, they would gain a lot more fanfare (whether you want to admit it or not). He'll more likely be going over JBL at No Mercy to become #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, and with ratings low at the moment, I can see another switch of the World Heavyweight Title (especially considering I can't see the WWE taking Jericho into WrestleMania as champion, as much as I would love them to, and some would argue he deserves).

John Cena's injury could be used to freshen him up, put him in actual wrestling attire, get a more interesting attitude, and his first World Heavyweight Title win at WrestleMania could be a big thing, however. He's also the younger star.

Batista has been a punk from day 1...this is totally indicative of his attitude. He's not appreciative of his spot despite the fact that he was hand picked for it and put over HHH strong.

He ditched his wife while she was going through cancer so he could break up Melina and Morrison.

To me, he's this generation's Lex Luger. He would be nothing without the guys in the ring that bump all over the place for him but he's seemingly forgot (or never learned) it.

First off, right now Bats is probably the top guy on Raw, and Raw is the top WWE show. I see him as bigger than Taker, HHH, and Cena (only cause Cena is injured). HBK is a big name, but he isn't a sweet chin music away from another title riegn like Batista is always a power bomb away.

I already said he should turn heel. Plus that line about him going to TNA. It would make a big splash, I agree. But then it would be nothing. No one in TNA is at his level, he would and should crush them all. Then after a while of crushing jobbers, he looks weaker because you only look as good as the last person you beat. So then TNA would probably get another big name, another big splash and Bats would most likely be where Tomoko is now, kind of a big name in TNA, but not top tier. That is just silly to think he would go to TNA in the first place.

I'm not going to bother with what ifs and how titles should change hands with you cause you are dumb about that stuff.

Just what the forefathers of wrestling intended. A champion who gets booed frequently, fans so into the show the security team occasionally has to jab them with a stick to make sure they're not dead, and a wrestling company who loses viewers like Triple H drops weight when a steroid scandal hits.

You see him, you see him, you see him. It's all about how you see him, isn't it? Look, it's an opinion thing. You think he holds the moon and the stars -- fine. I'd put all those guys above Batista. Yes, he's always close to the title, but so was Finlay for a while. I'm not justifying Dave being a cunt, just saying that if he is disappointed he's not "the guy" despite the consistency of his main event activity, then I can at least empathise with Dave. What you missed was that I was clarifying my stance after Fagnuts replied to me.
