I've always had a theory that it is pretty simple to have a guy turn heel (if he isn't like the most over guy in the company) and that's to have him do something to the top face. I could see RVD going heel with Heyman... put him in a match against Eddie, and have Heyman come out and blast Eddie with a chair. Then have RVD shake hands with Heyman and like flip off the crowd or something. Lotsa ways to make it work. In the longrun though, yeah, it'd wear off. Unless he came out talking trash about how the town's football team sucks or something. A good promo could work too. Then again, they're already using Eddie's heat to give Bradshaw a heel push ATM, so I dunno.

Even if RVD didn't work as a heel, I'd love to see Heyman in his corner. And have him get a real push. He's been beating midcarders nonstop forever now. I rarely see him lose. And even rarer see him lose clean. He is kinda like... Tatanka right now. He is mid-carding, has alot of wins, is over, but is stuck.
