Wait.. you lot across the world call a season of a show a 'series'?

That doesn't make any sense. You can't say series 1, and series 2, and so on. It is always a television series. It is a series of episodes that make up a season. A series of episodes don't make up series one, or series two. That is stupid. Seasons dictate what year the show is on.

Come on, you are messing with me. No way you guys really call a season a series. That is lame, even for foreign lingo.
