Doesn't really make much sense to give up on making one, when it will be a hit no matter when it comes out.

Look at Ghostbusters
They're applying blockbuster logic to something which is not just going to be a summer blockbuster. Ghostbusters is unconventional in the way it's coming out, and we know EA doesn't do unconventional.
