NFL 2008-2009 Season Thread

Considering that there were people over here screaming bloody murder when it was announced that some of the Buffalo Bills home games were going to be played in Toronto Canada, I think it'll be more than a little while before there'll be more than 1 reg season game per year on another CONTINENT.

There's talks of a franchise being created in the UK iwthin the next 10 years. I'm totally against it to be honest. I think the league should stay in America. There's plenty of cities that could do with teams ahead of anywhere abroad.

I second that it would be a miserable, horrible idea. Canada, maybe - or even mexico. But not fucking europe. The Travel schedule would lead to some of the worst football ever. And I don't care if Jay Cutler is your quarterback, your going to have alot of 13-10 games..because how can you throw downfield in a typhoon?

I guess you missed the Saints and Chargers game then?

But yeah, it would be stupid. And I don't even like the idea of the game going to Mexico or Canada. I think it takes the novelty away from the league that it's a pure American creation and is recognized around the world for that.

But obviously if a market opens up (ahem, Toronto...) then they aren't going to hang around.

Im going off the Giants- Dolphins game from a season ago. Yeah, Phil Rivers and drew Brees have great arms, but someone like Chad Pennington or Eli Manning would get eaten alive week in and week out. You might actually see A quarterback attempt 400 passes and not pass the 1500 yard mark.

Lol so your theory of why an NFL team would not survive in the UK is because it rains a lot?

No, me theory is that weak armed quarterbacks would not survive 8 home games in london. Oh yeah, and people love a high flying offense. The Giants led the league in rushing this year, and nobody was drooling over their explosiveness because Eli has the arm of a 13 year old girl.
