Yeah, Fryza and jcmoorehead nailed it perfectly.

It was neat in 4 because once you had killed the body, you hear that tearing/gashing noise, and whoop, Las Plagas. I hope this is some variation of that, as the tendrils and BOWs releasing from heads makes me think it might be.

I thought it was confirmed a long time ago, that the plot was connected to Las Plagas.

3. I imagine that you'd be capable of stocking up more effectively prior to the situations presented in the demo when you're in the actual game.

Yeah, seriously now. Good survival horror games don't have abundant ammo. That's the fucking point. Survival with limited resources. It's fineif you don't like that, but don't don't blame the game.

Oh, and RE4 and Dead Space don't count. Those are action games with a horror atmosphere.

In summation, GROW A FUCKING SET.

You're supposed to learn how to melee special in RE5, anyway. Shoot, run up, melee special. They didn't make your melee abilities that versatile for shits and giggles, come on now.

I've found that ammo really is everywhere. Slash fruit and there are grenades, smash barrels, there is ammo. Drawers, enemies, shelves all have a lot of ammo in/on them. The player just has to search for them but I think a lot of people are expecting the game to just give it to them.

The more I play the demo, the more I enjoy it. I managed to finally beat the chainsaw boss and, wow, it took a long time. I started by shooting an explosive barrel as he passed by, then unloaded everything I could find at him with uppercuts/hooks in between before finishing him off with a grenade.

I think Capcom may have given us a bad selection of levels for a demo though. Yeah the level are fine but if they were going to give us 2 levels, it would have made sense for one level to be action filled and one to show the more tense areas of the game. That's not a complaint, just a thought.

I also explained why it's an improvement over old Resident Evils, how the ammo "problem" is what people were clamoring for, how the fact that this is a demo impacts the playability of the game (because gasp, it's not a whole game), and how alot of people that actually take advantage of the game mechanics practically handed to instead of trying to Halo their way through it aren't seeming to have a problem. Ah, there's that maturity and whatnot we talked about.

So despite it basically being RE4 (a game that was hailed as an absolute classic with high scores across the board, ridiculous sells, numerous awards and nominations, considered by some to be one of the better games ever made and easily one of the best RE games ever made) with specific improvements (that were asked for by people that actually played the game), it sucks because you can't find bullets and don't realize you need to be kicking shit instead of shooting shit.

This Resident Evil is not a survival horror. It's a third-person shooter. Essentially, it's Gears of War 2 putting more emphasis on the horror portion than most do.

It really is as much a 'survival horror' as Resistance or Gears of War are. IE- It's not.

In short, you not liking a game does not = a bad game. Some people like it. Alot of people like it. If it's as much like RE4 as it seems, a whole shitload of people like it.

Maybe they'll have something like the Chicago Typewriter in this, too. Made for a fun 2nd walkthrough on the 4th.

Admittedly...I am kind of a whore for LE stuff. With a few exceptions. Only LE I didn't buy in recent memory was the Saints Row 2 one, since I already have a USB drive. So I passed up on that one.

But I can only hope you're right, and there's something extra in there.

Hopefully this is gonna be a good year for gaming, despite all the economic troubles.

Anyone that complained about not being able to move and shoot can be a little happier because Capcom have said there is an optional control system that lets you run as you shoot calling it a more "action" style of play and even saying it's more of a Gears of War style control system. You can stick with the style we have seen in the demo if you want to.

It's nice that Capcom if offering the option but I wouldn't have caved. Certain games should be played a certain way, IMO. But again, more options are always good. I still have my method and people who want RE to be played like an FPS (for whatever silly-ass reason) have their option.

Have you ever tried walking (much less running) while shooting? If you have, you'll know how hard it is to hit a target while in motion. This design reinforces the importance of playing co-op, as having a partner watching your back is crucial for success in the game.

The newer controls (which are selectable from the easily-accessed Options menu while in game) allow players to choose from four control schemes. The first two (A and B) are very, very similar to what you would consider "classic" Resident Evil controls. The second pair (C and D) are newer variants, mostly focused on moving more natural motion to the second analog stick on your 360 or PS3 controller. For the first time, you will be able to strafe in a Resident Evil game, just not while shooting! C and D will be the right choices to experiement with if you are coming off of games like Lost Planet, Gears of War or Call of Duty. A and B are where you should stick if you have played past Resident Evil titles and want to stay true to the purity of the original.

Tried the demo out the other day and thought it was "ok". Aiming was too slow for my liking and couldn't figure out where do go, even with the map.
