And like I said, fans were cheering Austin, and booing Bret long before his so called "heel run".

And if you took a world poll to see if Bret was a face or a heel, he'd be voted a face because America was the ONLY place where he was booed.

I think you're just kissing up to the States, and you make it seem like everything they do is right. What if Bret was cheered in the States, and everywhere else at that time, but was booed in some country in the middle east?

You'd probably discredit those people, and be saying Bret was a face.

That's how I see our little debate here. One little country boos Bret, and you think it makes him heel, but that's not true. I'm an American, and I don't see America as always being right like you may. I know for a fact we're far from being the greatest country on earth. We're better then most, but we're not always right.

It's all a matter of opinion and how you look at it: To me, Bret was the face, and it was the Americans that were the heels. That is how most of the world saw that program infact.

........I freaking hate heel wrestling fans. It ticks me off when they cheer on scum, such as Randy Orton or other bad guy characters. I would NEVER be a "heel wrestling fan" who cheers the bad guys, and boos the good guys.....and I cheered for Bret Hart and The Hart Foundation through out 1997. Because they were the babyfaces.

If this is about people booing the hell out of Batista and cheering legacy for breaking his arm its cause we hate batista and randy is good at being a bastard we like him cause he makes us hate him and hate batista....cause they try to make us like him. Then theres that damn code....it seems to have lost some of its luster in recent day though.Unless bats heals faster than wolverine and actually comes back and defends his belt god I hope not.

Well, in 97', Stone Cold Steve was a heartless bully and a coward. That is why I hated him, and couldn't understand why they'd cheer a hynea like him, and boo the King of the Jungle. Well, Bret answered it back then.....cause most Amercians are sick. They cheered for Charles Manson, John Gotti, O.J. Simpson, and Michael Jackson.

But everywhere around the world, they respect heroes. Especially in Canada. I wish Bret and Hulk could have gotten the kind of pops they got in Canada all the time. They deserved it. Say what you want about them, but they were good role models for kids.

Because by that time anyone who was over the age of 12 could identify more with an austin than they could bret hart as Austins character really brought the anti-hero to the forefront.Life itself is not drawn in lines of black and white Austins as a more realistic character than a all around moralistic good guy like a bret or hogan.

I don't think being a bully is something we should encourage. Yes, kids can become very heartless (no pun intended) at that age. I actually wrote a long blog post about that topic, and compared it to wrestling in 1997, because I was 14 at the time......but I'll spare you guys that post.

Anyhow, there were a lot of other guys that age that still cheered for Bret, and realized becoming a J.D. low life was not the way to go.
