Why get him when we just paid $80 mil. for his counterpart? We might as well be called the New York Blue Jays instead of the Yankees.

What we do need is an extra bullpen arm to take some pressure off Ace, Coke, Hughes, and Mo. Bruney still got some rust he gotta shake off, Melancon needs to prove himself, Robertson can be hit or miss and Albaladejo has been on the SWB shuttle more times than we can count this year.

Get me Scott Downs or Chad Qualls before friday, and I'll be a happy camper.

No, you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I was pointing out that Boston would need to give up something of that level in order to pick up Halladay. We don't need Halladay I was just trying to point out that Boston's offer wouldn't be enough. But, we don't need Downs or Qualls . Get me a reliable fifth starter first.

With Wang done for the season we need someone like Washburn or something to even out the rotation.

Mitre

I don't think is good enough. We need someone a bit more reliable then Mitre if we want to go all the way.

Mitre is a fine number 5 to make the playoffs with, and once we do, he goes to the Pen.

Burnett, CC, Pettite and Joba is a solid 4 man rotation
