He makes his return by doing a run-in during an IC title match and just destroys both competitors. Start his build from there, and he should do pretty well.

This is a pretty good set-up to re-brand him. Morrison isn't Nitro anymore and Melina has moved on as well. There is no reason for him to come back and say, "I'm Joey Mercury and I'm pissed!" A better thing to say would be something like "Joey Mercury is dead" and then go into what is basically a Loose Cannon-type gimmick. I think re-branding him is key, but it remains to be seen as to whether or not he can make it beyond MNM.
