Where will The Rock vs. Triple H rivalry rank in WWE history?

While 'The Rock vs. Triple H' will never be confused with Hogan/Andre, Rock/Austin, Austin/Vince, Bret/Shawn, etc., etc., I wonder where this rivalry ranks in the grand scheme of things? Consider the following:

-These guys fought against one another as young jobbers
-These guys fought each other as aspiring mid-carders
-These guys fought each other as main-eventers
-These guys were the top heel and top face when the WWE had its highest ratings ever
-These guys headlined a Wrestlemania together
-These guys headlined a Summerslam together
-These guys fought in an iron man match, ladder match, triple threat matches, and all kinds of various matches.
-These guys fought each as leaders of their respective stables (Nation vs. DX)
-These guys both burned each other big time with some extremely memorable promos.

Long story short - these guys practically did it ALL against one another. Perhaps this rivalry won't go down as the greatest rivalry of all-time, or anything even close to that, but this rivalry has to rank as one of the most well-rounded of all-time. To make this even more interesting, these guys apparently didn't even like each other that much behind the scenes.

I don 't know where The Rock vs. Triple H will rank in WWE history, but what I do know is that this rivalry has major significance.

I think Rock/HHH is ahead of Rock/Austin. As pointed out in the original post, it covered everything, and both got to play both roles. Rock/Austin was for the most part a continuation of Austin/Vince at it's peak.

But yeah, it'll always be second to Vince/Austin. Still, better than anything we've seen since.

I don't Think Austin/HHH was as big of a fued as HHH/Rock. Just their stable promo's and Summerslam ladder match alone overshadow anything that happened with Austin/HHH.

Honestly, if it hadn't been for a legendary Wrestlemania main event and the Motreal incident, it probably wouldn't be all that remembered.

As for Rock/HHH, the sad thing is that even though it was one of the most entertaining feuds of its time, anything from the Attitude Era main event scene that didn't involve Austin is, almost by definition, filler.

HHH and Rock had an awesome feud, possibly a top 5, likely a top 10 though. I think Austin/Rock, Bret/HBK, Hogan/Andre, and the best one of all.... Austin/McMahon just to name a few were all better in my view.

I dont have triple hhh listed in any top list, I just dont see him as a top star. To me, he's not as bad as Jeff jarrett, and he's a little better than Matt Hardy. The only time I considered him worth a shit is when DX went corporate with Stephanie.

So dx(before they had a feud with austin)was just filler? So the number of stars made during the attitude era was just a 'filler'? Depends what you mean by filler i suppose.

I think the thing that hurts this feud the most is the fact that they never had a 1-on-1 Wrestlemania main event (or Summerslam main event) match. Their match at Mania was the Fatal-Four-Way with the big buildup being "a McMahon in every corner". Likewise, their Summerslam main event match was a Triple Threat with Angle in which the biggest story going in was the Angle-Stephanie-HHH "love triangle". The Rock was almost an afterthought in that match, even though he was the champion.

I think it's definitely a storied rivalry and all, I just feel like it's place in history is definitely hurt by the fact they never got to headline one of the biggest two PPVs against each other in a singles match, with proper buildup.

We've had Austin/Rock, Austin/HHH, and Rock/HHH. It's a shame we never had some kinda triple threat feud between all three of 'em.

Well, it was supposed to be Rock/Austin/HHH at Survivor Series 1999. But then Austin's injuries caught up to him and we got the whole "Who ran over Steve Austin" angle.

The thing about them not headlining the biggest ppv's is because i think they feuded one on one so often at other times that they must've felt they needed to mix it up abit at the big ppv's.

Good question, and this is my take.

Bret/Michaels will go down as the most personal rivalry of all-time...where the participants involved hated real life hatred for one another. To make things even more interesting, both men were far and away the most talented guys on the roster.

The Bret/Austin feud is the feud that changed the fans perception of the hero...or what the #1 babyface should be like. Up until that point, people always loved the typical 'good guy hero'. After Austin/Bret though, the fans started to also love the badass face with attitude. In terms of where these feuds rank? It's obviously tough to quantify as to where these rivalries rank, in terms of being #1, #5, or whatever, but I think both of these feuds would be considered to be a top 3 rivalry by atleast some fans out there.....due to the significance and/or intensity involved.

Rock/HHH? My guess is that not many people would consider to it be to a top 3 rivalry....or even top 5....despite having done so much with one another one so many different levels. I think the Rock/HHH rivalry suffers from the fact that they never really had the one-on-one final blow off match at a main-event level. Sure they had their 1-on-1's, but I think it would have meant more had they had a 1-1 at Wrestlemania....and not as part of a 4-way.

To me this is one of the best rivalries ever cuz I found that their matches actually delivered I don't think it's only about the feud itself. One of my favorite matches was the ladder match The Rock vs Triple H had at Summerslam 98. Can't help but think WM would have been so much better had it been a one on one match between these two. They also had an Iron match together that could have been awesome but they went and ruined by Taker interfering after a tie. Honestly I felt it never got stale between them unlike some of the feuds on RAW nowadays.
