It depends on the stables. I like the idea in theory, because in a business fuelled with testosterone, people should be making alliances and having people to watch their backs. It also makes it more special when someone is not in a faction of sorts.
Even if they were inter-brand alliances, and guys just shared the same manager. The idea of one guy having an interest in guys with amateur backgrounds, and signing up Jack Swagger, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas and Dolph Ziggler could be interesting. Due to Ziggler's relationship with Maria, this could also get her sponsored by the group, which means she could also be in Charlie Haas' corner during his matches, which might get him a little more over. I wouldn't mind seeing Kane and Mike Knox develop a relationship based on their mutual love of hurting people -- even if they never officially form a full-time tag team. Cryme Tyme has got Eve and Slam Master J already as loose associates. It's a little predictable, but why not have R-Truth join their ranks? It gives them a singles guy who doesn't seem like a complete joke. The Hart Dynasty could have a loose "working relationship" with Chris Jericho and Big Show, based on Jericho's past with The Harts. CM Punk could get his bodyguard, and maybe also team up with Drew McIntyre. Finlay, Goldust, Evan Bourne, Mark Henry and MVP are all good buddies with Hornswoggle. Perhaps he could be the lucky charm that brings those guys under the same umbrella across the brands? Horny could appear on all three shows (gross, I know), when he gets his "manager's licence?" I'd like to see the return of stables accompanied by the return of managers. These are the sort of guys who can give guys who otherwise wouldn't have a reason to be associated together. The bonus part of this is that it makes feuding easier, and it also gets guys on the very bottom (let's take Tyler Reks, for instance) more over if they are put in a faction with someone who is over (let's just say that Tommy Dreamer gets him into whatever group he is a part of). |
