Regardless of how bad Sabathia's been in the postseason, I think the Yanks have enough offense to bail him out regardless. I know the saying is always pitching wins championships but I'm not sure it's possible to completely shut down ALL of the hitters on the Yanks for several games.

Can't deny Sabathia broke the trend and had a good game tonight. Still, I'll reserve judgement until he has another start since it's the Twins and one instance doesn't negate a trend.

I think that was the Twins shot though. If they were able to come in hot and rattle Sabathia for the win, then they'd stand a chance. Now, I just don't think so.

Angels are a threat on the basepath, they manufacture a lot of runs, but I just don't see them beating the Sox. I know the laws of averages would say that eventually they'll win some postseason games against the Sox but I think they're in the Angels heads.

Plus I don't think their starting pitching or bullpen can compete. They have some solid pitching, but it's really a core of a bunch of #3 starters. No real ace. I gotta like our chances with Lester and Beckett throwing on the road. Sox lineup will probably be way hotter for the playoffs too.

I think NESN yesterday or today hinted that Francona was going to plan Lester's start based on how the Angels like to steal bases so at least Game 1 they would be prepared for when it occurs.
