Probably would have kept Shad to match up the "bigs" that Team Raw has (Big Show & Henry) since that leaves just Kane as Smackdown's only "big". At the same time, Finlay is seen as tough enough to be a "big" so it is a good choice.
Also this gives Smackdown Natayla, who can trip a RAW guy when a RAW person gets thrown to the ropes as a way for Smackdown to "cheat" if a Hart Foundation member is in the ring. |

Not sure if I like this. Why go through all this to change the match right before the PPV? Yea it's a better team, it just doesn't make sense. Plus, didn't most of these new team members lose in the original qualifying matches?

LOL putting in all the qualifying losers. Thought Jericho and Kane were just gonna "fire" their entire teams, not have them lose matches.
Much better team though. I think I would have kept Drew McIntyre (for R-Truth tension) in and also added Mike Knox in favor of The Hart Dynasty. |

So any build of this match is now out the window.

Yeah I dont like this changing the entire team at the last minute crap. This ppv needed more build itself to make it seem worthwhile. But it just seems thrown together like usual.

Any semblance of logic has been thrown out the window with this one.
"Hey, how can we make the Smackdown team better? Oh, oh I know! Let's replace all the winners of the qualifying matches with the losers! " |

I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, a lot of the Team SmackDown! guys were too new, but I don't like them losing their spots just like that. I guess this will build post-Bragging Rights feuds. But I dunno: I definitely think that Matt Hardy and Finlay should have been on the team, anyway.
Of the guys on the SmackDown! Seven, Chris Jericho, Kane & Dolph Ziggler should have always been on the team. Taking out Ziggler is a mistake, I think. As for the other guys they replaced Team SmackDown! with? A lot of them aren't much better. Finlay and Matt Hardy should have always been on the team. Eric Escobar & Drew McIntyre were too new to even be given qualifying matches. I am okay with that change. Cryme Tyme seems to be shifted because of something that went down with Shad. Wellness suspension or legitimate sickness/injury? The Hart Dynasty replacing them is...okay. I like them and all, but I would have preferred it if they got a win over Batista/Mysterio to boost them first. Chris Jericho, Kane, Dolph Ziggler, Matt Hardy, Finlay & The Hart Dynasty would have made a fine team. R-Truth has really got no business being in there. I don't dislike him...but yeah. |

It's a better team, but R-Truth? Has that guy done anything? I liked the idea of Mcintyre being on the team. Maybe WWE has decided to push R-Truth now.

Shoulda kept Cryme Time and Ziggler, but added Hardy and Finlay instead of McIntyre and Escobar.
Also WTF no MVP? Even though he's on the ad on WWE.com. :foc: |

Nice to see that WWE creative came to their senses by removing McIntyre/Escobar from the match. They clearly were not ready to be in a high profile match like this.

R-Truth is gonna get to be on 2 PPV's in a row??? If he makes it onto a team for Survivor Series, I think he'll have set his new record in the WWE.

I'm not Cryme Tyme backer, but would have been better if Finlay got in instead of Hardy..... but I'd still prefere if the team was left alone

Why? They seem like a more poseable threat now. Aside from R-Truth, but still. You've got the 2nd or 3rd generation tag team who finally get their chance to prove themselves, a seasoned vet in Finlay who will get physical with anyone, and Matt Hardy who is also a seasoned vet. The match-ups seem more believable now when you look at it. Plus, who wouldn't want to see HBK and DH Smith work a match together? Same goes for HBK/Kidd. Hell, even Rhodes/Kidd would be good to see. Plus I have a serious feeling that if an ECW team isn't put into this match, that Kozlov and Zeke will make a run-in.

I don't like the way they switched the teams. I think they could have done it a lot more creatively. Chris Jericho could have said that they were not ready, or something, and that he wanted a team with experience and cohesion. Jericho could have fired Cryme Tyme, because he doesn't like them. Purely personal. He could then instate The Hart Dynasty, with Natalya at ringside. Vickie Guerrero could then tell Jericho than removing Escobar would be a mistake, and Jericho could fire him anyway, and Escobar could hit Jericho, or something, giving him something to stand out. Drew McIntyre could cut Jericho off before he fires him, and say that he has no interest in representing SmackDown!, but only in representing himself. If Jericho doesn't want him, then he doesn't want to be involved. He then quits the team. And for the love of God, leave Ziggler in there.
Finlay and Matt Hardy can then win qualifying matches against Mike Knox (Finlay) and someone else. Maybe Matt Hardy could actually beat Jericho to earn his worth? Then have Drew McIntyre get another win against R-Truth that night, Eric Escobar can squash Jimmy Wang Yang, and The Hart Dynasty could get a massive tag team victory over Batista & Rey Mysterio to build momentum. |

personally I think R-truth would be taken a lot more seriously if he were portrayed in a similar fashon to his TNA circa 2002 character that being said if treated right the feud between he and McIntyre could elevate both men substantially.

Seems the writers realized their fuck up and changed at the last minute, now they look even more stupid.
Better team, though.

^ Nah, it was clear smackdowns team was nowhere near raws level in terms of star status, or atleast not big enough to main event a PPV. This may tell us though that smackdown is winning the match...

I think a hand from above may have sorted SmackDown! out. But then I have to ask: Is the new team really more credible? I mean, the guys in there now all lost to the same guys previous. Granted, Escobar has got little to stand on, but McIntyre has gone over Matt Hardy and R-Truth in recent weeks. I'd say he's definitely looking like more of a threat than R-Truth right now, at least. Finlay is a welcome addition, but he's been beaten by Ziggler heaps over the past few months. And The Hart Dynasty and Cryme Tyme have been feuding for ages, and CT have probably won more matches. From a smark perspective, The Hart Dynasty are probably preferred, but marks would probably care more about Cryme Tyme, and have reasons to think that they are the stronger team. |

Hell, take the 5 guys kicked off of Team Smackdown (McIntyre, Escobar, Ziggler, Cryme Tyme), add Zeke and Kozlov, and have them be a 3rd seven man team. Once you hit this threshold of clusterfuck, the possibilities are endless.

Honestly, I'm not interested in this match at all. Too much clusterfuck, uneven sides, no real goal other than to get 14 guys on the PPV, etc.

Maybe the other SmackDown! guys will get involved in the match, and attack the guys on Team SmackDown!, triggering a DQ, or something? Stupid ending, but I hope they aren't completely shafted.
I wouldn't mind seeing Dolph Ziggler vs. JTG vs. Eric Escobar vs. Drew McIntyre on SmackDown!, with the winner getting an Intercontinental Title shot, or something, either. |
