I would absolutely love that. Highest I usually get is around 400 kB/s. Need to upgrade my internet and get an external hard drive.

I looked and I was like, wait that cant be right, 7.0% already...

At 30 mins (exactly) its at 21.5% of a 3.98GB download.

I hate spending 65 a month on net, but sometimes I love it.

No that's the rate at which you are uploading that torrent and I'm sure that's not your max upload if you are able to download at 1mb.

Damn. Figured you would have like at least 1mb upload. 0.67 mb/s is about 83 kb/s.

If you use uTorrent version 1.5 and tweak the settings you could probably get even closer to your max download which would be around 1800 kb/s (if you have a lot of peers) by putting the upload to 1kb/s. I tried the newer versions and I couldn't get around the upload thing so I've been using 1.5 for forever.

I am using the old ass version of uTorrent, I tried the new one and I could only get about 400kb/sec max, I uninstalled it and reinstalled the old one and it works excellent.

You have a 14meg (probably a little more) download line and you're happy about 1mb/sec?

I have an 8meg, and get 900kb-1mb/sec regularly on good days.

Like I said earlier in my last post. Uploading while you are downloading increases internet traffic going back and forth from your computer so limiting the uploading as much as possible will allow you to download at faster rates.

i thought it was the opposite. the faster you seed, the faster you download. a "give and take" if you will.

Maybe you are right in a way because uTorrent is probably forcing you to upload so that everyone shares but I only use version 1.5 so that I don't have to upload. This allows me to download at the max speed as long as there are an optimal amount of seeders. I updated once and when I set my upload limit to 1kb/s the download speed was crap and when I set the upload to a higher number it didn't help much. So the problem would be with uTorrent because that's not how the internet works.

You ever notice when you upload something then surfing and downloading seems considerably lower? When you are uploading you are sending data to another computer and when you are downloading, the data is being sent to you. It's all using one connection to your PC/home. Imagine the internet traffic from and to your computer like 4 lanes of a highway. 2 lanes going and 2 lanes coming. If you take over 3 or all 4 lanes for downloading then it will be faster. If you can only have 2 lanes then the flow will be slower.
