My hope is that the Giants pass rush can return to 2007 form. If that happens, you can line the popcorn vendor up in the secondary. A great pass rush will help out any DB.

So Rolle and a hopefully healthy Kenny Phillips will be the safeties. Webster and Ross at the corners...hoping Ross can go back to his rookie year form.

Could be a damn good secondary. Gotta find a middle linebacker now.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ross get the boot. The guy is injury prone. Stick with Webster and Thomas.

The Giants do need a MLB, but I want to see them ensure a solid pass rush up front. I think the dust is settled with Osi and the front office, but on the other hand, I wouldn't be shocked if he were traded on draft day or something. I think Kiwi is in a contract year this year, and I want to see the Giants lock him up.

I think Osi's going to stay. Fewell's Tampa 2 defense uses 3 DEs a lot of the time I believe (which isn't too different from Spags' defense...but the idea is Osi will probably get a lot more playing time than next year)

I'm intrigued in Chris Canty next year. I think he's got a lot to prove after his injury-riddled 2009. Bernard sucks though, hopefully they cut him soon enough. Alford will be back and they can probably draft a serviceable backup DT.

Where do you think they get a MLB? I really haven't paid much attention to the free agent market so I'm not sure who's out there.

As a Bills fn, I can tell you that NO, he does not use 3 DEs. He Rushes the front 4 only, and drops 7 back in coverage.

You have the DEs to make it work, but like you said, they need to get pressure or else they are just going to be like the bills, bend but dont "Break" defense. No one will break the big one, they will just average 6 yards a carry and dink and dunk to a TD.

Oh sorry I didnt include why he doesnt rush 3.

Fewell believes in "DT Penetration" so Canty might break out. But his schemes for DEs are basically "Run around the edge"

I think the giants now with Rolle taking care of the secondary need will attack the top DT on their board at 15. So Brian Price from UCLA,Jared Odrick from Penn State or Dan Williams from Tennessee could very well be the pick.

That is of course unless Rolando McClain drops to them and would then play MLB, but I think hes going top 10..latest he would go is to the Broncos at 11, but ya never know.

Should Claussen drop to 11 which is possible, Broncos could nab him. I think its going to be a crapshoot this year.

Very possible Hanso. I'm also thinking if the Seahawks do sign Marshall, giving the Broncos the 6 pick as well, they could nab Clausen at that spot too.

As always the draft is always a great topic of conversation.

That and I think it's 10 minutes instead of the usual 15 inbetween picks. Or was it like that last year too? I'm not sure. I like watching the draft though and running mocks in my head sometimes.

Last year was 10 minutes in the first round, second maybe even too.

Hopefully Fewell isn't a rush 4 drop 7 type of guy. Maybe he just did that because of personnel? I hate that type of defense.

If the front 4 play a la 2007, won't be a problem. Last year the DL was injured/under-performed so we'll see. Can't get much worse than last year.

lol Jim Sorgi might go from backing up Peyton to backing up Eli. David Carr signed with th Niners so the Giants now need a backup QB.

They are also taking a look at Rhys Lloyd, a guy who was on the Panthers solely to do kickoffs. He's got a big leg, and I'd welcome him. Fuckin Tynes would always let the opposition start at the 35.

Thomas Dimitroff is a GOD! Everything he touches has turned to gold. He really knows how to wheel and deal, and of course he is an absolute ACE when it comes to the draft.

He was able to deal Chris Houston to Detroit in exchange for a 6th round pick and also swapping picks with them in the 5th. Also a great job locking up Dunta Robinson and making the Falcons that much closer to becoming Super Bowl Contenders!

Splaya I know your a Lion fan, and all I have to say is good luck and get the Tylenol ready because Chris Houston has all the talent in the world but he just doesn't know how to put it all together on the field. If he would only learn to turn his head he could be a #1, but he refuses to do it. I'm glad the headache is off my team, but I wish him the best in Detroit.

I don't get why the Cardinals losing guys on defense is a big deal, it's not like they are a team built on sick defense like the Ravens or Jets. They gave up like 100 points in 2 playoff games, it's not like it can get much worse.

Losing Warner is gonna hurt them the most, dunno if Matt Leinart can step up.

Its more of a combination of things than just loosing players on defense. No Warner or Boldin means Cardinals just lost 2 of their best offense players and they never relied on their defense to pick up the slack so by loosing more defensive players, the game scores might worsen.

The Bears and Ravens are the opposite where the offense is average but their defense keeps the scores close enough to make up for the lack of quality in scoring.

I get what you are saying but what are these new guys gonna give up 115 points in 2 games now? I don't really think losses on D is that big of a deal, the production can be replaced. Kerry Rhodes already signed to help out in the defensive backfield and it's still pretty early in the off-season.

Losing Warner and Boldin is really going to hurt. AFC West is garbage though so who knows whats going to happen.
