The way that the WWE has been handling the tag straps since Jerishow has built them back up to a large degree, considering that at least one former WWE champion has been holding them for the better part of a year.
The thing is though, the WWE doesn't seem to really care about the division per-say, and are using the belts more to either get the most out of their talent appearance wise (Jericho), give DX the rub of being tag champs, or putting more gold on Miz. There's really only been two well marketed tag feuds (DX vs. Legacy and Jerishow), which shows how much they're really focusing on building the division. The divison itself has been populated largely by main eventers or thereabouts, and thrown together teams would just seem so below what the tag straps are. And I seriously doubt the 'E would devote TV time to putting over these new teams. |

Carlito and Michael Tarver could go a fair way as a tag team. There is something about them that is so different, but allows them to blend together, in my opinion. The same could go for Matt Hardy & Justin Gabriel. And now that they have distinctly different personalities, bring up Curt Hawkins to RAW and stick him back with Zack Ryder. With Rosa Mendes as a valet, I think they could actually become a pretty well-remembered tag team.
