You've won the lottery

Alright. Here's the deal:
You've won the lottery, say 300 million (£ or $ - whatever works for you) and you decide that you're going to start a wrestling company to rival WWE.
You can 'steal' a maximum of 10 stars under contract to Vince, and the rest have to be made up from either Indy's, OVW, etc, or wrestlers who won't work for the talent-eater that is WWE.
You're going to do one televised show per week, on Monday nights in the same time slot as RAW.
So who would you pick...

For me, I'd have the following 10;

1) Matt Hardy
2) Christian
3) Jericho
4) Edge
5) Randy Orton
6) John Cena
7) RVD
8) Jamie Noble
9) Rey Mysterio
10) Eddie Guerrero

I'd also get out there and sign the following:
Ultimo Dragon
Bill Goldberg
Steve Austin
Sean O'Haire
Matt Morgan
Lance Storm

That'd give me a starter for ten (well 16) and from there I'd start trawling Indy's, and kick my own ass when I remember people I'd forgotten.

The ten in no order would be

Eddie Guerrero
Chris Jericho
Chris Benoit
Tajiri
Tazz ( if he'd wrestle again)
Big Show
Shawn Micheals
William Regal
Charlie Haas
Shelton Benjamin

Then I'd try to get a good working relationship with World-1 ( US basked Zero-1 promotion), which would get me in talks with people like Low-Ki, American Dragon, CM Punk, etc. It'd also get me in good contact with the Japanese Zero 1, getting a shitload of nice talent... Then I'd use Zero-1 to talk with Noah, and possibly AJPW and NJPW as well ( Because Japanese feds are more open, and they'll let there wrestlers tour with other feds.) I'd then try to get some Luchadors, and possibly some shoot fighters...

Basically I'd market the company as being an actual diverse wrestling company. There'd be sports entertainment aspects and angles, but the ring work would be top notch.

Well Austin and Goldberg are easy picks from the free agents list. If I had to pick ten from the WWE though, Michaels, Triple H, Benoit, Angle, Eddie, Edge, Jericho, Rock, Orton and, since I picked those guys to mess with Vinces head in the first place (coupled with the fact they're name guys who are over and/or can draw) I'll chuck JBL in there, just to really screw the competition over - one might argue I'd be doing them a favour, but I'm sure Vince wouldn't see it like that. Besides, I need somebody at the door to greet all the new young wrestlers I sign...

If you have £300 million and don't take The Rock, HHH, Benoit, Michaels, Guerrero, Jericho, Angle and Foley to start with then you are an idiot. That would be every star the WWE has and you would have practically wiped out half your competition.

£300 million don't mean shit without a national TV deal anyways.

My 10 (I'm assuming that The Rock is still contractually obligated to Vince)

-The Rock
-Triple H
-Chris Jericho
-Chris Benoit
-John Cena
-Randy Orton
-Eddie Guerrero
-Rob Van Dam
-Shawn Michaels
-Christian

With The Rock, you have your 'draw' (when he makes TV appearances). With Triple H, you have your 'established star' (who has been made to look like 'god'). With Shawn Michaels, you have your past legend (who can still work solid matches, and can get others over).

With the rest, you have excellent wrestlers and/or guys who can potentially draw in the future.

Others:

AJ Styles
D'Lo Brown (if he doesn't still wrestle, I'd bring him back).
Sean O'Haire
Jerry Lynn
Stone Cold Steve Austin (part-time appearances)
Hulk Hogan (part time appearances)
Ryan Shamrock
2 other hot chicks (fans aren't going watch a TOTAL weiner fest).

Well wouldn't take all the best talent that the WWE has to offer, cause I know the only way to keep fans excited would be to have a healthy bit of compitition, so I wouldn't completely cripple the WWE with my picks, I'd just hurt them a bit.

WWE Wrestlers I'd Steal
Chris Jericho: He'd be the cornerstone of my company
Christian: Eventually would be my top heel
Edge: would start off as my top heel
Eddie Guerrero: major face pops
Batista: I need at least one big guy
Kane: Okay two big guys and I'd have him wrestle under his real name, but keep a similar gimmick
Randy Orton: Gotta think about the future
Al Snow: Great on the stick great in the ring, this'll be my way of showing the booking guys how stupid they are not using him
Kurt Angle: A guy that can make anyone look good in the ring
Mic Foley: A guy that could put anyone over

Free Agents
Sting: Big established name
Jeff Jarrett: I've always dreamed of a Jarrett vs. Jericho feud for some reason
Brock Lesner: Another big name
Kanyon: Who betta then Kanyon?
Mike Awesome: just give him a mouth piece maybe someone like...
Arn Anderson: The perfect guy to manage up and comming talent
Sean O'Haire: Start him in a feud with Sting as like a creepy fanatic of the Stinger
Raven: The real Cerebrial Assassin
Elix Skipper: I know he's in TNA, but I fogot his new name, this guy is golden and speaking of which...
Dustin Rhodes: In an gimmick where he's somewhere between Dusty's "American Dweem" character and Goldust.

Ten talents I would steal from the WWE:

The Rock
Randy Orton
Taz
Triple H
Chris Jericho
Kurt Angle
Eddie Guerrero
Rob Van Dam
Rey Mysterio Jr.
Chris Benoit

I WOULD take Undertaker over Taz, however, Undertaker is old and probably doesn't have too long left to go.

Other guys I would employ:
Goldberg (I hate him too, but the man can attract some attention.)
Brock Lesnar
Ultimo Dragon
Raven
Kanyon
Sean O'Haire
Possibly Sabu
Jerry Lynn

As steals from Vinnie Mac, Id take:

1. The Rock (If I could get him back in wrestling full time)
2. Kurt Angle (Obvious choice)
3. Chris Benoit (See Kurt Angle)
4. Eddie Guerrero (Mega Face Pops)
5. John Cena (I'd scrap the rapper gimmick and use him as a pirate - Long John Cena)
6. Shawn Michaels (The people want to see him)
7. Randy Orton (As said earlier in thread you have to think of the future)
8. Chris Jericho (Jericho could be the best in the business given half a chance)
9. Edge (See Randy orton)
10. Christian (I'd want E & C to reform and He'd be a great Heel)

Others I'd love to have:

Bret Hart (Biggest Face Pops ever)
Sting (More Face Pops)
Steve Austin (would attract attention to the company)
Bill Goldberg (vs Austin Feud would make megabucks)
Sean O'Haire (I'd find a proper use for him)
Low-Ki (Crusier Champ)
Danielson (vs Low-Ki always looks great)
AJ Styles (vs Low-Ki vs Danielson > any crusier match WWE would allow)
Jeff Hardy (Teeny Pops)
Steve Corino (miss him on my TV)
Mike Tenay (Funaki really wasnt the #1 announcer this guy was)
Sabu (The man is pure class)
Brock Lesnar (He was overpushed but still a good draw)
Raven (vs Sabu would be a dream come true)
The Sandman (vs Sabu vs Raven = Gold)
Kanyon (Missed on Tv)
Juvi (addition to any crusier division)
Amazing Red (see Juvi)
Sharkboy (I'd lose the shark gimmick but see Amazing Red and Juvi)
Mike Awesome (Just noticed my distinct lack of bigger guys)
Jamal (supposing Rosey didnt actually eat him)
D-lo Brown (Hate the guy but he's a solid worker)
Last but by no means least Ken Shamrock
