I think a team should make a playoff appearance in the last 10 years to be able to host the All-Star Game, or at least post a winning record.

Or not have an owner who is a penny pincher.

One reason KC had a new stadium built was the owner/group made a promise to bring an all-star game to the city since Selig has been known to give out all-star games to teams with new stadiums as an "econimic boost" to owners/cities.

Looking back this sounds a bit ridiculous. Kauffman Stadium is a very nice stadium and I'm happy for the fans in Kansas City. Hopefully they get to see an AL victory since their team has been so terrible for so many seasons (except '03 ).
