WWECW was diluted down to fit in with the broadcast standards of SyFy/WWE whereas TNA seem to have a lot more leeway with their production and might make a decent go of it as a throwback to the original ECW format.
I honestly don't think TNA can do any better of a job, even with the extra leeway.
