I find it odd that links appear in SF4, a game that makes several strides toward lenient gameplay. It's like they needed some arbitrarily difficult mechanic to appease the tournyfags out of fear the game would get boring during high level play.

I read a lot of Sirlin's articles and while he can be crass, he makes some good points about the contradictory design of SF4. HUGE reversal window and absurd input leniency paired with 1frame links and a complicated roman cancel mechanic? Kinda odd, really.

Fighting game design as been dominating my brain and I actually choose to update ____________ rather than do homework this morning. In truth I'm starting to stress simply trying to score identity, when major game franchises have not!

But yeah, fuck links (and plinking).
