I'm willing to bet it was pretty much THE reason for the change. The WWE's skyrocket in popularity during the Attitude Era was due to the more adult-themed nature of the show; from the language to the violence to the sex. I don't see why Vince would EVER want to change that unless there was a very good reason to do so, and right now the only good reason is because of his wife's candidacy for the US Senate.

Conspiracy Theory FTW!

I don't think it's that hard to see. The rest of the entertainment industry has made the same move. More and more of the market in music and movies is shifting towards youth or teen demographics because there's money there.

And if you can't see money as a good reason, Well...

Actually, I'm not sure what I can say. People seem content to ignore the best reason for WWE's market shift in favour of blaming Linda's campaign.
