He reminds me so much of Shawn Michaels.

He got big as part of a tag team and branched out, becoming far bigger than his partner.

He's arguably the best wrestler in the company right now with a gimmick better suited for a heel but the man himself would be a dynamic superstar face.

That being said, I think the logic thing to do is go the HBK route. He should have stayed heel for a bit longer after the Miz break-up, gotten over that way, maybe dabbled in the main event, coming close but never really winning the world title. And then give him some sort of sympathy face turn and have him just be amazing in the ring and eventually win the world title he struggled to get as a heel.
