I'm bummed to have not been able to watch the event but from the sounds of it, it doesn't seem that the Nexus angle is not completely done. Where they go from Raw tonight should give us at least the slightest idea of where they're going from here.
Also, Staples Center sounded like hot crowd. |

I neglected The Miz' promo in my review but yes, it was fantastic. I know he was filling time but damnit he was on fire for someone who didn't even have a match!

So what did everyone think of the big match last night? That Cena guy is one tough customer.

Have Nexus be majorly pissed and continue to destory the Raw stars. Keep in mind they keep refering to Barrett as leader by proxy so there's the chance someone else will be revealed as being behind the group. Also keeps the story going through nicely till Survivor Series if need be.

This was a pretty storyline driven show, and unfortunately the match quality just wasn't there for the most part.
The opener was doing its job, and to be perfectly honest, I wasn't too interested in it when it was booked. It was a good match for what it was, and the Nexus interference was done pretty well, but I hope that Kofi/Dolph attempt at revenge on SD, since ya know, ruining the IC title match shouldn't go without people getting pissed. Maybe Kofi/Dolph are teamed on SD to face 2 members of Nexus, only for Dolph to drop off the apron and have Kofi get his ass beat, adding more fuel to their rematch at NOC. Melina/Alicia was pretty horrible. Laycool vs. Melina has me interested though since it seems like they'd be unifying the titles, finally. SES/Show was blah. Pretty ridiculous at how long this match lasted with the no-tag format rule as they couldn't put away Show. Oh well. Orton/Sheamus was very good, and I really enjoyed it. Not a fan of the finish though, because I feel that Sheamus should have went over here with a pinfall. Didn't have to be clean, but just give the guy a fuckin win. Do they think it'll hurt Orton's momentum? Nothing can hurt his momentum, the guy's on fire, and I hope they do a slow build for his Championship win (Mania?). If Orton lost last night, I'm sure the fans would still be behind Orton and pay money at NOC to see him try and win, meanwhile Sheamus finally gets a win. Miz's promo was hilarious. Kane/Rey was boring. Felt like I saw it a million times before. The Taker thing was disappointing to me because I'm a dumb mark that wanted to see Taker destroy people on his comeback. But, yeah it's pretty lame with the whole coughing bit and pale, but they did a good job of making Kane look like a beast against Taker for once. The main event was awesome. It was great to see Danielson back, and he looked like a star. Loved the match, I just wasn't a fan of the DDT on the floor spot so late, since Cena won the watch like 90 seconds later. But whatever, great match. I agree with some that it didn't have a "Big 4" feel, and it wasn't a very good Summerslam, but I still enjoyed it for what it was and look forward to NOC. |

I don't understand why people don't break pin attempts in elimination matches anymore. I mean, I understand with 7 on 7 we'd be there all night if people kept breaking pins, but like, someone from Nexus I believe took two finishers, and the Nexus guys just stood there. Couldn't one of them pulled the referee out or something to A. break the pin and B. cheap heat.
Shane McMahon during the Survivor Series 2001 match is a great example of this. |

Rammsteinmad is right on the money with that. They just stood there and let the guy get pinned. They watched him get pinned then reacted like it was a surprise.
Go back a few weeks to bret hart just standing on the apron while Cena got the shit kicked out of him when Nexus where the lumberjacks. Do the writers and bookers ever think about real life and what would happen in a real world situation? fuck no! |

I also hate that no one ever breaks up pin attempts. If they wanna book the match all lazy like that, they should make some stupid "rule" to avoid it.
