We own the planet. We're where we are because we are intelligent. Intelligence is exactly what makes us superior.

I'm not saying that animals are useless, because they're important to the Earth's ecosystem and I, in fact, love animals. But I am saying that animals are below us. If we weren't superior, some other animal would have killed us off millions of years ago. Was some of it luck? Sure as hell was. But intelligence is the absolute biggest factor here in superiority. If we didn't have the intelligence, we wouldn't have prospered to anywhere near the point we have.

Do you have pets? If you had to save either your pet or a family member, which would you save? The family member? The pet? Why would you choose the family member (which is the obvious answer)? Human Life > Animal Life.
