Jeff Wilpon saying all the right things on WFAN this morning, including taking fan phone calls which is a pretty ballsy move on his part.

He said the new GM is gonna have full autonomy, including having the final say as to who is the next manager. He was even asked specifically that if the GM came to him and said that he couldn't move Perez but he can't be here, would he eat the $12 million - and Wilpon said absolutely. He was also asked if the budget is going to be a problem and he said no. When asked "So if the GM asked you for $20 million for Cliff Lee to better the team" Wilpon said he'd do it.

Naturally, I'll believe the full autonomy thing when I see it. But I hope he's telling the truth.
