Anyway, I love how this DLVH guy enjoys showing off by dropping all the names and shit.
He just couldn't go with one or two wrestlers, made a whole fucking list, including some goombas most people never heard of. |

Wow, it's hard to narrow this down to just one.
I'd say the one that shocked me the most was Owen Hart because it was the most preventable of the wrestling related deaths. Although ones like Eddie and Benoit also caught me off guard. And ironically, I consider three all time greats and definately among my favorites. |

Eddie and Benoit were both equally shocking, but I gotta give the edge to Eddie solely because it came first. It was the first "major" wrestling death in a long while. I wasn't expecting to log on that day and find that one of my favorite wrestlers was dead.
Benoit's was more of a "oh fuck, is this really happening again?" type thing |

Benoit was more shocking simply for the circumstances. Eddie's was definitely the more shocking in terms of the initial "oh shit, what's going on!?".

Owen Hart took the "oh shit, what's going on!?" spot already.

I would say Chris Benoit, The circumstances were so shocking that if you tell me the whole thing was a set up I would probably believe it, mind you the evidence in that case is pretty clear cut.

I'd say Benoit.
I was shocked at Eddie's passing but I was pretty hysterical when I found out about Benoit. |

Owen Hart because I ordered that pay per view and it was sort of hard to comprehend what actually happened at the time. After British Bulldog/Curt Hennig none of the other ones were really that shocking anymore, save for Eddie Guerrero who was the best wrestler in WWE at the time. Guerrero's death desensitized me to Benoit's, at least until all of that killing stuff was exposed.

Owen followed by Eddie and Benoit, just because of their 'stature'. After Perfect, Bulldog etc, I kind of became desensitized

I think they all surprise you, I mean, none of them were expected, you know. It wasn't like they had a long illness and had to retire from wrestling to take care of it.
Eddie Guerrero's death was shocking. So was Benoit's, and when everything came out, that it was his whole family, even more eso. Pillman's death was shocking too. But Owen Hart takes everything to a whole 'nother level. He not only died unexpectedly, but was killed during a WWF (WWE) Pay Per View, in front of thousands of fans. So, that one, to me, is the most shocking death of all. I still remember waking up like at 6:30am to go to school, and my mom telling me that she saw on the news that BRET Hart had died, and I was like "WHAT?! BRET DIED?!" Then I found out it was Owen, but it didn't make it any less surprising. |

So many good responses here. I don't know who shocked me the most. With Beniot's, it's honestly a blur. I read it and I just stared blankly at the monitor, wondering if my eyes were playing tricks on me, my brain trying to make sense of what I was reading. With Eddie's death, I remember reading it and openly weeping. I didn't do that with Benoit's death, I didn't do that with anyone else's involved in professional wrestling.
I was aware of the WWF when Owen Hart died and while it did make the news here, I wasn't as wrapped up in wrestling then so it didn't affect me the same way it affected others. Overall... I don't think I can stick with one, but at the moment, I'll probably say Guerrero's. |

For me, Eddie, Benoit, and Owen are tops.
Eddie and Owen because they were so beloved not only by their peers, but by legions of fans. I teared up for both Owen and Eddie's Raw tributes. You can just see the love and respect that people had for them. And they left us out of nowhere. Eddie for me especially. This is guy I had known and loved to watch since WCW. Seeing him win the WWE title after all the struggles and hardships he endured due to his own demons, only to overcome that and become one of the greatest success stories ever is heartbreaking. Benoit takes the "WTF" factor. Once the real story hit, it was surreal. You watch a guy do his thing for ten years or so and then all of a sudden he goes and does to his family what he did. Unreal. |

Oh yea it was a lot longer. But I hadn't known about him till he got into WCW. I was only 9 years old when I first watched him and outside of whatever past they may have alluded to during his matches, I didn't know anything about him back then.
