I love Josh Mathews, but I like Todd Grisham, so I hope the guy finds work elsewhere. He didn't even work Superstars -- Jack Korpela did that. I was wondering if that guy was still under contract.
The Swagger Soaring Eagle bit is just for the kids. Chavo earns a good paycheck doing it. I know that is the cliche way of defusing "Use Chavo right!" arguments, but marks don't know it's Chavo. It doesn't hurt him, and shows that there's some trust in the company in him to make that shit work. Drew McIntyre turning on Chavo Guerrero after the match sounds...interesting. I hope it goes somewhere. Chavo has been ready for a face turn for a long time. He's even been getting respect pops lately. He prefers to work as a heel, but slap the Guerrero name on a few t-shirts, turn Chavo face, push him, and you've got some sales there, surely. Shaul Guerrero is also in developmental now, so Chavo's cousin may join him on TV in the near future. Chavo could also bump well for Drew McIntyre, and really put him over. The WWE did exactly what I think they should have with Kofi Kingston/Dolph Ziggler. I could watch Swagger and Kingston wrestle each other every week. Seems like we might be heading towards a Triple Threat Match for TLC. I'd like to see Jacob Novak get involved and help out his WWE Pro there. The NXT guys would get so much more over if they were influential on RAW and SmackDown! while being understudies. Swagger vs. Kaval is nothing to complain about, either. Chris Masters beating Cody Rhodes in a Masterlock Challenge is great. Masters is turning into a really solid hand. I'm liking the cockiness of his NXT character. If he can introduce that to his fun-loving generic babyface on the blue show, then I think he will climb the ranks. MVP has left a spot for a face to step up, and that might just be Masters, who is still really young. Rhodes cannot compete with power to Masters, and this was a power contest. It helps Masters, but protects Rhodes. Next week, I think we'll see another match between the two, with Rhodes cheating to beat Masters. Put Byron Saxton on commentary for Masters' matches. Natalya & Beth Phoenix vs. LayCool seems like a logical addition to TLC. Give the win to Natalya & Phoenix, with Phoenix pinning one of the heels, and build-up to Natalya vs. Phoenix and the destruction of LayCool. I can't think of a better Divas Title match at WrestleMania than Natalya vs. Phoenix vs. McCool vs. Layla. The main event sounds interesting. Alberto Del Rio hanging in there with two top babyfaces? Credible heel, much? The ending sounds ridiculous, though. |
