Jeff got to the main event eventually in WWE. It was Matt that never really hit a peak despite there being several oppurtunities.

I don't think Val is all that bitter. I think he sounds more pissed off and annoyed about how the Hardy's go about their business and how they are basically marks for themselves while Venus accepted role after role without so much as a peep.

Adam Evans is a legend who took nothing from noone.

WoW. Val seems awfully butt-hurt about something.

The Hardys never paid their dues? So they didn't start out as absolute jobbers and work their way in from the bottom up? Christ, JBL has stated that they paid their dues, and that guy will shove a bar of soap up your ass if he thinks you didn't.

And yeah, Paul London might out-work Matt Hardy, until he saw something shiny or someone threw a dime bag at him.

Whatever else Matt Hardy is (at times he's been an emo crybaby, a jealous older brother, and an angry boyfriend) saying he has no talent and no charisma is idiotic. People ate up the Mattitude gimmick, they went nuts for Matt vs Edge, and Matt vs MVP was constantly trumpted as the best part of Smackdown at the time. Val sounds like he's trying to earn good-boy points to try to avoid getting fired again. And Val has loads of talent. If anything I think he has his panties in a twist because people take to Matt and Jeff more than to him.

I'm really surprised to see this video. For one, Sean Morley has always kept a quiet profile. I think someone hit the nail on the head when they say that Morley is annoyed to see The Hardys acting like marks for themselves, when Morley spent so much of his career as an enhancement guy, despite being able to out-work most of the roster.

I agree that Val could perhaps clean it up, and post in a more educated manor (the guy is not an idiot, I think he just buys into internet shorthand a little too much), and I hope there are no repercussions on Val for this. Did he just call Michael Hayes washed up and broken? I guess Morley must be a producer on Monday Night RAW...

I'm also surprised to hear Val say Paul London could work circles around Matt Hardy. It's true, but just so blunt. I don't agree that Matt and Jeff have ZERO talent. Matt could at least work a decent match, and had it in him to play at least one interesting character. But if you grant Val some hyperbole, then yes -- what he is saying is pretty much right. Jumping off one ladder into another ladder doesn't take talent, and that style of match is essentially what perpetuated The Hardys. I've been a mark for Matt in the past, but let's face it -- the two were essentially jobbers before the Terri Invitational Tournament.

I'm not seeing your point here. The Ringmaster was practically a jobber before he became Stone Cold. The Miz was Marty Jannetty before somebody gave him a microphone. Kane was a dentist before somebody gave him a mask.

I can't see why people would hate on Val for this. It's pretty ballsy taking people on via twitter when that's where they seem to live their lives. They don't seem to have any problems attacking anybody so if they can't handle a bit of the same medicine what does it really say about them?

This is just silliness that I don't get too bothered by. I liked Val Venis thought he never quite got as far as he could have, but I remember hearing somewhere that he was the type of guy that would never activly politic for storylines so he's left with the legacy that he has which is good better than 99% of people that have aspirations of being a wrestler.

As for Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy... Well I've never been a big fan of Jeff but I've always been a mark for Matt. I've said it before and I'll say it again Matt Hardy could have been (still could but its doubtful) a huge star. He has a natural chrisma about him and he can work a good match technically, high flying wise, and psycologically. He has a great mind for the buisness and is a self promoter (all the great wrestlers are). All he needed was that one creative mind to really run with him, and he never had it. He's basically gotten himself over (both as a heel and a face) on a number of occasions but the WWE never advanced him.

Did he whine and complain about being "held back." Yeah. Was that kind of a bitch move? Yeah. But I can't really blame him. It must be frustrating to be so close to your childhood dream but have it taken away from you time after time whereas your brother that has a passing interest in the buisness achieves it's ultimate reward and then desides to leave beacuse he's "burned out." Does this justify his rants and twitters and youtube videos? No. But it explains it.

I wish Matt Hardy well in TNA. At least he's in the promotion he'll be given the chance to be a main eventer though if Matt Hardy were truly honest he'd admit that winning the TNA Championship is a bronze medal at best when compaired to WWE gold.

Good post, Show Off. Matt Hardy essentially got his brother to do really stupid shit to get them over, and Matt got a lot of longetivity out of it, but never got as over as his crazy brother did. It's a bit sad, but that's the way they rolled the dice.

That did suck, it was a great feud. However, I think that feud being delayed hurt MVP more than it hurt Hardy. I think if the if Hardy were to have taken the US title off him at the logical time of the storyline (ie Hardy's appendix didn't happen) I think MVP would have been pushed as a main event level heel.

A lot of Matt Hardy's potential main event runs were cut short. Mattitude could have taken him higher; his return in 2005 should have taken him higher; his feud with MVP could have taken him higher; he could have received a better push when Jeff left (it would have been natural for Matt to try and avenge his brother). But Matt doesn't know the right way to go about things. Plus, he didn't take the time he needed from his surgeries and stuff to really stay in shape.

Still, the more time that passes, and it just becomes clearer and clearer Matt Hardy is a complete mark for himself. Hardy really could have helped usher in a wave of new talent, but instead he wants to bitch about how he should be getting pushed to the top. Yeah, there may be a point in there, but guys like Christian and such go to work and do their job, and hopefully it pays off for them in time.
