MITB

Why the hell haven't they announced any of the contestants in the Money In The Bank match yet? If they don't have a MITB match because of the gay MITB PPV they came up with I'll be greatly disappointed. MITB is one of the reason why Wrestlemania is the only PPV I purchase.

They're not doing MITB unless it's a last minute decision. And with Morrison and Ziggler having a match on the card, I don't see it happening.

If they're keeping the PPV, they probably should get rid of it. MITB is one of the best things they've come out with in recent history but you don't need 3 winners a year (I'd even say 1 per brand is a stretch) Personally would prefer if it was kept strictly as a Mania thing however and dropped the PPV name.

I do expect some sort of battle royal on the PPV itself, not just a dark match.

Still hoping for a new Gimmick Battle Royal.

So let me get this straight. You buy Wrestlemania for MITB, but you think a PPV featuring two MITB matches as the main events is "gay"?

Makes sense.

to be honest, winning MITB at WM trumps winning it at the lame throw away PPV. The match goes from having an epic feel being held in front of 60,000+ to just being another spotfest ladder match for a title shot.

Well from a business point of view it makes sense... we have gimmicked PPV's now and we have built a strong new gimmick match at our largest event of the year, Wrestlemania won't be hurt by lacking MITB, but a summer PPV could certainly benefit from hosting it.

Besides, why have ladder matches on PPV's when you have Money In The Bank (2 Ladder Matches) and Tables Ladders and Chairs, which usually has either a TLC Match or a Ladder Match or both. It's overkill. If the gimmick PPV's are going to work they can't abuse the gimmicks off the PPV itself. Eventually people will look forward to October because they will all know "that's Hell in a Cell month for WWE".

I think the idea of cramming everybody on Wrestlemania is a bad idea, see Wrestlemania 2000. Only those superstars who have made the biggest impact and are relevant at the time of the PPV should be given space. That said, The Corre deserve to be on the PPV more than Punk's Nexus, bottom line. Corre is going to get into an eight man tag with Big Show and Kane, and the possibility of Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, Christian, and Diesel. I feel like WWE is going to get us another unique surprise and get WWE's biggest men to smash The Corre. Big Show, Kane, Mark Henry, and Diesel would be insane, and it could be a super hot opener for the PPV.

That's one way of looking at it.

I would argue that making MITB it's own PPV and independent annual event adds to it, and makes it like a modern day KOTR.
It catapaults a wrestler and usually goes to the same caliber of up and coming talent as the KOTR once did.

I am in favor of MITB not being at Mania.

Forces them to think of things to do with people on the roster, rather than just saying "Let's just throw them in the cluster**** ladder match".

I want a MITB at Mania simply so my fantasy of Christian winning MITB and cashing in on his brother and turning heel at the end of the night comes to fruition.

Probably won't happen though and they'll have some lame battle royal dark match DVD-extra opener to get more guys on the card.

They just need to make the ppv a number 1 contender match (Well both matches) for the next ppv. Have the MITB at Mania stay with being able to cash it in whenever you want.

I would also contend that the prestige of the match is much higher on it's own PPV for one big reason.
The talent they put in it.

On Wrestlemania, the priority talent mostly finds their way into their own matches.
The MITB is populated with the leftovers, except for 1 or 2 real superstar contenders to actually win the thing. If that.

Aside from the first year, almost every MITB ppv has had one or two obvious favorites. Like RVD, or CM Punk, Jericho, Christian, or whoever. Sometimes they even build the match around two guys, like they seemed to be doing with Jericho and Jeff Hardy one year before Jeff flunked a piss test.
Swagger was really the only time they ever pulled an upset.

On it's own PPV, a large amount of the participants, if not all of them, are credible stars and actual threats to win the thing.

They clearly do not need to learn anything.

Just saying, that with MITB at its own separate event now, it opens up the "biggest stage of them all" to other things and opportunities.

Yeah, some people might not get a Mania pay day... but I am not them, and thus do not care.

They will get a pay day anyways. WWE actually does it's best to get everyone on the card.

Everyone who would be in MITB will be on the card this year, somewhere.
Instead, they will just have an IC or US title match, and a big tag thing. And probably a battle royal.
They even find a way to get the leftover divas on the card every year so they don't screw them out of their payday.

I like the (lower) titles being defended rather than the champion be a spare man in MITB, so I'm in favour of not having it at Mania.

As much as I love Christian, I'd rather him not have an actual wrestling match than be forced into the Corre/Big Show/Kane stuff.

I just feel he belongs in the Edge/Del Rio fold. Even if it's just in Edge's corner and he sees unsanctioned action during it. Del Rio will probably have his new bodyguard anyways. Maybe it even sets up a heel turn.

Still gets him his payday. I can live with him not being a random addition to an existing build.

I think it would be awesome if they had a Money In The Bank match that Christian won and cashed in after the Del Rio vs Edge match.

I mean Christian has a reason to screw over Del Rio and if he were to cash it in on Edge then that would lead to a great feud between Christian vs Edge

Makes sense.
No you slap nuts if you would read what I posted correctly I said that's one of the reasons. "ONE". Everybody knows WM is always jam-packed with some sweet ass matches. MITB used to be one of those sweet ass matches. Apparently not any longer. Shitty move in my opinion. They could have come up with some other gay Themed PPV. Like it was said above. I think having 2 MITB winners from each brand is a bit much. Nice shitty move WWE.

Will the lack of the MITB actually stop you from buying Wrestlemania?

If so, this match must be pretty money for you as a fan. Why are you so against watching a PPV of which it is the main attraction?
Surely it's the main attraction of Wrestlemania for you if it is indeed make or break.

Overdoing it is the problem I think. Two Chamber matches, two cell matches and two Money in the Bank matches does seem pretty extreme.

Mind you I still enjoyed the Chamber PPV.

I think them having two of each match is a great idea, it helps me accept the fact that RAW and Smackdown are two different brands rather than just one big group. I actually liked how back in 05-06 they had their own PPVs and alternated months but Im sure the SD buy rates were awful...

I wish they had done a Money in the Bank, too, but what talent are now available that would really make the match? Arguably, they could have Kane & Big Show face Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson and have Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater in there. Evan Bourne, Drew McIntyre, Ted DiBiase, Kofi Kingston, Christian, Santino Marella & Mark Henry are all without matches, too. Maybe they could re-hire Shelton Benjamin in time for the PPV?

It just feels forced, though. Save Money in the Bank, and perhaps air some sort of televised Battle Royal with the winner getting some sort of reward.

Same here...

MITB doesn't HAVE to be 8 guys. I honestly feel like 8 is overkill. The 6 man MITB they had at Mania 21 had a much better feel to it than the total spastic 8-man frenzy they've got going right now.
