No it really wasn't. Not a single classic match or even really memorable match. MOTN was fucking Cody Rhodes vs Rey Jr.

HHH vs Taker was alright, it was solid but with the build up to it being OMG it's HHH/Taker and that's it, it needed to be better then solid it needed to be a classic and it wasn't, not even close. It was a slow paced match with no rhythm or flow to it, both guys looked really old out there and were working at at most 50% speed. It was spot... rest rest spot....rest spot. I mean HHH shoulderblocks Taker in the corner and then collapses and rests for 45 seconds, the whole thing went on way too long, some of the spots were good: the spine buster through the table, the HHH tombstone but the finish was weak and the post match assuming that wasn't really was drawn out and awkward.

Edge vs del Rio deserved better then curtain jerking and was a pretty good little match (in fact I was actually praising Mania after this match and Rey/Cody) but The Corre match was an albatross, Cm Punk vs Orton was alright (Punk did the best he could with the Scott Summers of WWE), Morrison and Ziggler deserved better than being in the pee beak match. The mainevent was given no time, Cena's entrance was borderline cultural appropriation, the double countout reversal finish was the worst way to get The Rock involved, the only thing they got right was Miz winning but then they just discarded him, in lieu of The Rock (which granted they had to do but should have had Miz get a bit of celebration time in) Finally Lawler/Cole was the most disappointing thing on the card and that's unacceptable, it had the best build and should have been the easiest thing to book, King kicks the crap out of Cole Piledriver 1,2,3 or repeated fistdrops if Cole can't handle the piledriver, instead it went on for 15 minutes, Cole was in control for way more of the match then needed. Booker T getting in the ring post match was dumb and the super delayed reversing of the match was awful.


All in all not a good Mania at all.
