there is a brilliance to classic goldust. it wasn't just about hitting on his opponents. everything he did was self-contradictory. his movements were so smooth and deliberate, despite having such a flashy bizarre appearance. his manner of speaking could be pouty and ridiculous, but it was always commanding. he always made you feel like he knew more than he was letting on. "*inhale* goooooolduuuuust *bite*" is iconic. everything he did created this weird attraction to see more, and you always knew that at any second, he could go from fucking with his opponent to whipping his ass.
the tourette's and submissive versions took that away, for me. i didn't see any brilliance, it was all "comedy spaz" and just stupid. classic goldust and bad doink are the best bizarro characters ever in the wwe. |
