My sister and brother in law live in Tanay in the Philippines and he speaks tagalog. He's telling me it means expensive in their language.

Mahal has many meanings in the Philippines: 1. For the person you love: (as an adjective): dear, precious, beloved, 2. For the person you love (as a noun): your dear, your dearly beloved, your loved one, 3. For things, as an adjective: Mahal means expensive 4. As a verb: to love Just google "what does Mahal mean?" and you'll see that I'm not wrong. I work on a cruise ship with like 1,000 Filipinos and they often refer to each other as "mahal." |
