I think Savage was more mainstream than people assume. Lil Wayne has referenced him a couple of times as have a bunch of other rappers. Plus dude's Slim Jim commercials alone are HOF worthy. I think because he wasn't as much of a media whore/hanger on as Hogan and Flair people might not give him as much props.

Yeah I almost forget how long his Slim Jims commercials ran for. I guess it's because he's been out of the public eye for so long that I never would have guessed this news would be so big.
