Played "Naked City" today. Pretty neat case. Earle was rather funny, even if I still wanted to kick his ass. Got all of the achievements on my first shot.

Just finished the game in terms of cases. Still have stuff to collect however I can't work out how to go back to specific cases? I resumed the game after the credits and it took me back to the end basically. How do I go back and redo cases?

When you boot up the game at the main menu go down to cases, then you can either redo them or go into free roam mode.

Just finished the game and...

SPOILER: show
What the fuck?! Two games running now Rockstar kill off the main character! Saying that, I felt more devistated at John Marston death (whoops spoiler alert) than I did Cole's. I just didn't care for him in the end. He pussied out in the war, cheated on his wife with a GERMAN and to be honest I think he got what he deserved. Like most people, I loved the game and will no doubt spend many more hours on this with the collectables and dlc, but the ending was pretty lame.

rockstar endings have been crap lately. GTA vice city and san andreas had proper endings. san andreas especially, it's like "hey, i've got two fucking mansions, a shit load of cash, my gang has taken over mine city, i have my own airstrip avec planes, a casino and a FUCKING JETPACK"

that's how you end a fucking game.

God, hunting for cars is horrendous, and all the "guides" online dont seem to help as the cars seem to randomly spawn

Same ending from Red Dead Redemption pretty much. Just finished all of the street crimes and it was a bitch to switch the discs back and forth.

PC port finally announced to be arriving later this year and will contain some enhancements and bonuses with Rockstar Leeds handling the port. The game will be available both on disc and on digital services but no news was given if the console DLC will also be arriving.

I try to do everything on my own first, only resetting if I bungle something crucial. Find that sometimes I don't know whether to "Doubt" or "Lie" because I'm not sure which direction the accusation is going...that's where I run into the majority of my trouble.

Can't really "speed" through the game either. It's got a very deliberate pace, and there's not much you can skip through.

Should do, main cases took me around 22 hours to do, but if you want to get 100% it will take a while.

Have only got ten cars left to find, driving me insane trying to find the last few.

He's right. Except you CAN skip driving by holding Y/Triangle after setting the location to make your partner drive. You will also be prompted whether or not to skip certain action sequences after 3 failed attempts, and it doesn't affect your case rating at the end. So if you're going for 5 stars on a case and you get frustrated with an action sequence, just hit yes anytime after a 3rd failed attempt to move on.

I understand completely. But, incidentally, if you don't get all cases 5 starred the first time, that comes in handy (the link), especially if you don't want to waste 15 or 20 $ on a "real" guide.

Has anyone tried out the DLC cases yet? Got Naked City with the game and liked it...wondering if the other three are worth it.

Slip of the Tongue and Nicholson Electroplating are pretty neat. Consul's Car (PS3 exclusive) I didn't care for all that much.

By the way, fun fact about "The Naked City" case: based off a Noire movie by the same name.

Sure it's not the only one, but just happened to stumble upon this when it popped up on Netflix.

Yeah, pretty sure all the cases in the game are based off either a noire movie of the 1940's or actual crimes that were committed in L.A. sometime during the 1940's.

Also, just finished the game last night a little after 12AM (won't spoil anything here), but HOLY SHIT!

Get the Rockstar Pass, and it works out around 800 points for 4 new cases. Each cases probably takes 1 to 2 hours to complete, and there are 100 Gamer Points in each.

Worth investing in even if you were tired of the game at the end, as the cases allow you to play as Cole in different departments and at different stages of the game.

Nicholson Electroplating is definitely more of an action case, with a lot more shooting and chasing involved. Personally, I enjoyed the Naked City case as it was the most balanced of the 3 available so far.

Enjoyed the game, although I got a little tired of the formulaic game-play by the end and was a little bemused by the sudden change in protagonist.

There's no longevity in it really. Other than the DLC and maybe chasing a few achievements in free roam, there's really no desire to pick this up again at any point. Unlike the GTA series, Red Dead or Saints Row, there just seems to be a lack of freedom that you'd expect from a 'sandbox' game.

Little changes like allowing Cole to draw his gun and shoot when you please would be a welcome addition. Don't get me wrong, I got at least 20 hours solid entertainment from this, but I still can't help feeling underwhelmed overall.

Ended up not picking up the DLC cases...found that by the end, it wasn't the gameplay that was keeping me hooked, but more the overarching plot. Didn't need a re-tread on the game itself, though maybe in a few months when things are feeling more fresh I'll give 'em a go.

Good god, finally found the last couple of cars I needed to get, have now 100% this, but will definately get the dlc for this, even though Cole is a douche bag.
