X-Pac heat is not a myth. It's a phenomenon of crowd apathy brought forth from the combination of never evolving your gimmick since '97 and scaling down to a limited moveset in the ring well before you have earned the "veteran right" to do so.

Wasn't like he couldn't put on good matches. He just usually... didn't, and went the route of crotch chops and bronco busters ad infinitum. Also, all of his promos were "screamy/whiny" in a voice that was slightly less annoying than Steph's promo voice.

As for Waltman himself, and more to the subject, he seems to be like that mediocre-at-best collegic QB who goes on to become a well respected, pro caliber coach. He's not one of the "GREATEST WRESTLERS EVAR", but he knows his shit, and I could see him being the head of a wrestling school that churns out a lot of future stars.
