My roommate had an interesting observation that could play into how this whole angle goes down. During the promo there were two contracts out in the ring, one of which CM Punk had already signed. It could be spun that during all of the confusion, CM Punk grabbed the wrong contract and tore up the one that didn't have his signature.

CM Punk goes onto win the match this Sunday only to have Vince come out and reveil that he signed "the" contract, in effect forcing Punk to stay on. This could setup for a Punk/McMahon fued that could slowly build Punk up as an anti-hero similar to Austin.

As much as that's a fantastic idea, I just watched the whole segment again and Vince does keep a hold of Punk's contract during the time Cena is in the ring, but when Punk leaves the ring, he steals it back from Vince. So if that is indeed how the angle goes down, they're going to have a tough time showing how the mix-up happened.

I thought maybe because Vince was offscreen for a long time that the mix-up could have happened then, but Vince's contract was lying in the same position when Punk left the ring as it was when Punk tipped over the table.

So Vince's contract hadn't been touched.

Your implying logic when it comes to the WWE...The WWE writers could say the sky is red and "expect" that the crowd believes it.
