When did the WWE start using liscensed music for ppvs on a regular basis?

Yeah mid '98 sounds about right...or at least that..it could have been earlier too. WCW rarely used actual songs for their ppv's. I remember Road Wild '98 having a Travis Tritt tune, but other than that I can't think of anything.
