This show was AWESOME. Very enjoyable and had a great time watching it.
6-man tag was an ideal opener. Consisted of 6 guys that all have history and they got this crowd going. Sheamus/Henry was a really good big man match. They had to be careful how they booked this one, and it was perfect. The crowd loves Sheamus, and I think they would have went insane if he made it back in the ring and hit the Brogue Kick. Great way to put Henry over without making Sheamus look bad. Kelly/Beth had a really solid divas' match. Best one in a looooong time. I'm sure Kelly has definitely improved, but Beth is just great. It's obvious that a NOC rematch is in the works, and that's good news. Bryan/Barrett was great, and I was glad they gave it time. I previously stated that I didn't wanna see Bryan/Barrett on the card, but I'll eat those words now. Great job by both guys. This was the first time in a long time that Bryan was able to open up the moveset, especially against a bigger opponent. I loved the Wasteland/Guillotine/LeBelle Lock exchange towards the end. The flipping lariat was sick too. ![]() Orton/Christian. Wow. Fucking great match here. They built up to the big spots in this match perfectly. Each weapon usage made sense and just kept getting more vicious as the match was going on. Orton/Christian have wrestled one-on-one at 4 straight PPVs, and they managed to keep each one of their matches fresh, exciting, and create a new story each month. I loved how the story telling came full circle from their first Smackdown match in May when both were babyfaces. Orton hit Christian with the RKO as he was countering Christian's sunset flip attempt in a standard one on one match. Now 4 months later, after Christian has turned into a total asshole and pushed Orton, their feud ends with the same exact counter but on steel steps to put an exclamation point on it. Really awesome ![]() Cena/Punk was another homerun. A perfect "part 2" to their MITB match. This is what a main event should be. Insane crowds, great build up. It was just perfect. This match reminded me of the big main event feel that Undertaker/Austin had 13 years ago in MSG. The "foot on the rope" thing seems very tired to me, and I did feel that this match should have been given a proper finish, but it wasn't given a proper finish for a reason. They are setting up for more, and I'm all for it. I think it'll be revealed that Triple H saw the foot on the rope and just ignored it anyway because he wanted Nash to be the one to screw Punk out of the Championship because of what he's said/done over the past month. Lots of questions to be answered after some awesome wrestling. ![]() |
