Legends of Yesterday vs. Stars of Today

This is based off of the Dream Match Ups thread:

Let's say you're in charge of booking a Legends of Yesterday vs. Stars of Today type pay per view based on gimmicks/characters/personality traits that would make them logical feuds, pick who you would put over and feel free to discuss why.

1) Rick Martel vs. Cody Rhodes

2) Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "The Viper" Randy Orton

3) Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Edge w/ Lita

4) Kurt Angle vs. Bret Hart

5) DX (HHH, X-Pac, New Age Outlaws) vs. Four Horsemen (Flair, Arn, Malenko, Benoit)

6) HBK (circa 1996) vs. CM Punk

7) Sting (circa 1996) vs. Undertaker

8) Hulkamania Hogan vs. John Cena

1) Rick Martel vs. Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes

2) Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "The Viper" Randy Orton
Randy Orton. Never cared for Jake Roberts to be honest.

3) Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Edge w/ Lita
Really enjoyed Savage when I was younger, but I was a mark back then. Looking at it now, I'd have to go with Edge.

4) Kurt Angle vs. Bret Hart
Huge Bret fan back in the day, but for the same reason as Savage, I'm going with Kurt Angle.

5) DX (HHH, X-Pac, New Age Outlaws) vs. Four Horsemen (Flair, Arn, Malenko, Benoit)
Four Horsemen. Huge Horsemen fan back in the day, and despite probably being the least popular, this was my favourite line-up (mostly for the Benoit/Malenko team).

6) HBK (circa 1996) vs. CM Punk
CM Punk. HBK obviously one if not THE greatest of all time, but CM Punk is one of MY all-time favourites.

7) Sting (circa 1996) vs. Undertaker
Sting. Got no problem with Undertaker, just that I was a huge Sting mark back in the day, and like Undertaker, he's still delivering the goods. Just in a shittier company.

8) Hulkamania Hogan vs. John Cena
Cena. Do the people of TPWW really need to ask why?

If this one goes well, I'll do another. Why do you think I left Zack Ryder v. Disco Inferno off? Gotta leave some good ones for next time.

Chyna vs. Trish or Chyna vs. Beth Phoenix is another one I want to do.

Angle vs HBK at Wrestlemania was an awesome match, so it's not surprising to me because I took Angle back then . . . and he won !

I think this answer depends. was wwf/e more popular now or in the eighties/nineties? either way i think Hogan is the face of wrestling. not so much now but when he was top no one was near him.

1) Cody Rhodes - Not as one dimensional.

2) Jake "The Snake" Roberts - The snake was very creepy. It gave him mystique.

3) Edge w/ Lita - Not a big Edge fan. But Edge is a bit more original.

4) Kurt Angle - Even though I still think Bret was the best wrestler in the ring, Kurt Angle had a LOT more going for him than just being a super wrestler. The man is one of the best to ever pick up a mic. Bret can't boast that, no matter how much I'd like him to be able to.

5) DX (HHH, X-Pac, New Age Outlaws) - Not the original horsemen. Fuck that.

6) CM Punk - Bigger fan base. Period. HBK had the Bret stigma for a long time. Not a lot of dudes liked him.

7) Undertaker - Short list.

8) Hulkamania Hogan - Original.
