Netflix had the chance years ago to prevent Gamefly from becoming one of their main rivals but for some strange or dumb reason decided against it which allowed Gamefly dominance in that market.

I'd also assume they must have misjudged how much of an effect on-demand streaming services would have against their disc rental service.

They could beat Gamefly easily by establishing a competent service.

Which will probably be split off into a third company in six months....
