Clark also 'Reported' this *BREAKING NEWS*

Despite rumors to the contrary, the cryptic promos airing for January 2012 are meant for Chris Jericho as of this writing.

News came out last week that talks fell through between WWE and Jericho but they are still ongoing as of right now. Also, Jericho recently said he would never wrestle for WWE again and when asked what he would be doing in January, he responded “Working in Hawaii”. That’s likely a cover-up.

Word is that the deal between WWE and Jericho is not done yet but Vince McMahon wanted to get it out there now. Obviously Vince McMahon feels a deal will be made. WWE officials want Jericho on the RAW brand to help boost ratings.

Honestly, i'm thinking either Jericho or Sheffield. Sheffield as this Ryback character that he used to be. Can't really think of anyone that would make much more sense, not that Ryback actually makes that much sense in the first place. Actually, "It will be the end of the world as you know it." sounds kinda like a more 'Terminator'-y thing to say. Remember Ryback was a Terminator-like gimmick. Also, I may be going too far into this but when a Terminator from the films comes to the present from the future (Ryback was billed from 'the future') it causes a small electrical storm and electronics go faulty, which could explain the faulty twitter graphic. But tbh it probably is just Y2J making his return.

The general vibe I got from people who saw this was "Jericho," but the video doesn't really have a Jericho-like vibe. The kid in school? The Bible verses? Unless Jericho has worked out a new way to "re-invent" himself? I mean, Jericho did say he would only return if he found a way to evolve his character, and he did say that if he could have played any character in history, it would have been one like The Undertaker's. Could Jericho have tapped into a new persona? Perhaps something a bit gloomier like this video could be used to promote a rivalry between Jericho and Taker in time for WrestleMania? Mere speculation.

My honest thoughts watching the video, though, were:

1. Vince McMahon returning to try and get "his" WWE back.

2. Batista -- for some reason I believe the video really suits him. He's played darker characters before, and even Biblical ones. The video doesn't seem dark enough for an Undertaker return (unless it's a completely remodelled Undertaker, which seems unlikely at this stage of his career).

3. WWE Network changing the world.

But now that people mention it, Skip Sheffield returning with his Ryback character seems likely. More videos will likely be produced, so we'll get better (or worse) indicators.

I'd like to think it was a big deal being made of someone new coming in, but they don't really go the mysterious route with new guys as the reveal is a let down. Kinda makes me miss the times when there was a viable Top 2, where you could make a big deal of somebody jumping ship. Like Jericho for example. You couldn't really give that treatment to a new guy nowadays.

I'd like to think it was Jericho but I'm not convinced. Even if it "all adds up" .

I can't imagine how a guy from the future gimmick would work in WWE in 2012 unless it was done tounge-in-cheek and that would kind of kill Skip.

Probably gonna be Taker.

Or Sting coming to claim a place in the Hall of Fame, of course.

I don't know why everyone thinks it's going to be Taker. Can't see Taker wrestling before Mania, so what is he going to do, stare at the ramp for three months before declaring his Mania opponent?

I propose that it is a new wrestler that they are bringing in with a "Son of The Undertaker" gimmick.

He comes in and is like Ministry-era Taker, going on a rampage. Kane joins with him, newly turned back to the dark side once again. They go on a warpath. Sondertaker wins the World Title or the WWE Title. Seems unstoppable.

Undertaker returns to confront his son at Wrestlemania, saying he has gone too far into the darkness... but that he will SAVE HIM.

Taker loses at WM, cementing The Sondertaker as SERIOUS BUSINESS, and setting up a new Streak.


BAM, the WWE has a new Undertaker character around for another 20 years if they are lucky.

I can't tell if you are joking or serious. But I would buy into that. Actually sounds like a really good idea.

The WWE Facebook page is kinda teasing a Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania.

Could this "itbegins2012" have anything to do with Brock Lesnar?

I believe his last obligated fight is on December 30th. I doubt it's him, but I think it's technically possible, unless he has another fight on his contract.

It being Brock Lesnar would actually be really cool, and it would kind of fit. Lesnar vs. Punk at WrestleMania? Yes, please.

Brock's had health problems and he's 34 years old now. I'm not sure how long he wants to keep fighting and such, but it's gotten to the stage where he could do random appearances for the WWE, make a lot of money, and be treated like a star bigger than the business.
