I am planning on purchasing a new game, few ones in mind are Arkham City, SR: The Third and Dark Souls.

What do you guys think?

Arkham City. Saints row was good but doesnt take long to finish really.

I think if a game generally gets the comment "Finally, a game you can truly feel like Batman" it would be amazing. I am really looking into that one unless you guys think there is something better.

dark Souls looks good TO ME. but i'll recomend getting Batman....you cant go wrong with a good Zelda clone

Fallen Clox, since it's the same gameplay for a significantly lower price, you could try the game and decide whether the second one's worth investing in. And since the first one was seriously praised, I don't see a reason not to start with it....

I didn't play Asylum before City.

City is fantastic though.

Dont buy Dark Souls. You will hate it because you're a pussy.

Also, how about you finish the games on your to-do list before you buy a new one.

I'd also suggest Deus Ex: Human Revolution if you haven't played it yet to me it deserved GOTY but I guess it just doesn't have the appeal to casual gamers.

this convinced me to go out and buy dark souls...its damn good. any how Batman is a clone of the Zelda formula (and a damn good one.) dungon field dungon forumla works well. throw in some puzzles (stealth puzzles and non) and its better than any zelda to come down the pike in sometime. i dont say Zelda clone as a negitive.

Dark Souls Special Edition is £20 on amazon right now and I'm very tempted to buy it despite having a backlog of 9 unplayed games. One of those unplayed games is Arkham Asylum.

So my advice is to buy everything then make a new thread asking which one you should play.

Arkham City. The game is an expanded and a bit improved version of the first game and I think the Joker's storyline is the only one that might have been carried from the first game that has any real impact. They did add in a lot more villains and sidekicks for the City to pad the game's content.

I'd assume Saints Row the Third would require at least the 2nd one to have been played to understand the story a bit more but if you just want to goof around and like the GTA/SR type games, then the Third would be ok. The DLC might be a bit of a ripoff considering how short they are or a bit too pricy for what they contain.

I plan on getting the Saints Row Series eventually, had the first but it would always freeze on me so i gave it up.

Wouldn't really say Zelda and Batman have anything in common. lol Think telling that to someone like FA is a bit misleading because he is going to take that comparison to heart way too much when he forms an opinion of the game in his head prior to playing. The only game I'd ever legit compare to Zelda is Darksiders, due to following its formula near exact.

The formula it follows is really more typical of -any- open world game that allows you to explore and do content in whichever order you wish. I'd say it has more in common with the Grand Theft Auto formula, minus driving/shooting. Still, comparisons like that don't really work. Arkham City is fucking Arkham City. Its combat system is stylish and smooth, the 'leveling' gives you an amount of freedom to choose gadgets and such as you wish. There are so many side missions that I don't think I've even come close to scratching the surface. The story is fantastic.

NG+ makes things harder, takes away combat indicators, and lets you keep all of your unlocked gadgets. Loving NG+. Also love the Riddler challenges you can play outside the campaign once you've unlocked them in it.

SR2 is the pinnacle of the series in most senses.

SRTT is shorter, shallower, and easier.

Though that being said, you might enjoy SRTT more.
