As harsh as the punishment is, it might be a smart move by the NFL. They'll most likely never have to deal with this type of problem ever again because of this.

The fact that he tweeted that in response to the rumors that the Jets were interested in Tebow still says something about locker room synergy and what it's going to be like when Tebow gets there. Except he didn't say anything about supporting Mark Sanchez as the starting quarterback. He didn't mention Sanchez at all.

It was more a direct shot at Tebow since he talked about how they sell out all their home games already (a shot at Tebow's popularity and the fans he will bring with him since the experts discuss ticket sales as a part of his appeal) and how their second stringers can run their wildcat offense (another shot at Tebow considering the fact that one of the reasons why the experts said the Jets would do that deal is so they could put him in Sparano's wildcat).

Those are quite obviously not as much anti-Tebow as they are pro-Sanchez. By making these public statements he is clearly putting faith in the team's QB that has been lambasted in the media.
