I wonder if at Summerslam we'll see Rock/Cena vs Punk/Big Show as a way to keep the storyline going and keep The Rock "tuned up" as it pertains to actual wrestling (especially in front of a live crowd).

Cena's cash will be determined as premature. I can assure you, that his cash in will be considered invalid due to all of the interferences that occurred. It would really make the MITB concept meaningless if you win by DQ and waste a cash in like that. AJ as the GM...I can see her continuing to be involved in the WWE title picture while Punk is still champ and grant Cena another opportunity.

No way a heel Punk beats Rock unless there's shenanigans. And I don't like the idea that they would spend all last year trying to get the fans to cheer Rock's face nemesis because he's a face and now they'd be trying to get people against Punk because he's heel.

Punk's gonna get cheered still. They have what they wanted last year with Cena in Punk. A guy who can actually make for a dynamic crowd reaction. I'd prefer them to just roll with it. Depends on wording the WWE uses from now on but technically the streak still is active since everyone who's cashed has won their match. The only change now is the case no longer guarantees a title but everyone who's had it is still undefeated.

I consider it as a cop-out moment mostly because Cena still won which doesn't give him the negative status as the first MitB winner to lose his match while the WWE can now use the actual loss for someone else like maybe Ziggler or for a future case winner.

Regardless of face/heel status, win/loss regarding Punk vs Rock, the match (or matches) and promos will be incredible.

What a great ending - finally something to freshen up the dead WWE landscape. Ever since the awesome Summer of Punk, what did we get? Face Punk playing SECOND FREAKING FIDDLE to Cena the whole damn time. Then he was in a ridiculous love triangle. Turning him heel just pumps me up that much for Rock vs. Punk, Punk being a mega heel, Rock being a bonafide face, and hopefully this is the end of the boring Show heel push. Until the Rock comes back in time for the Rumble though, I have a feeling Punk will be a cheered heel over Cena.

Perhaps this kind of heel turn is a new experiment that may make Punk more popular than Cena... or just make kids hate Punk more, I'm fine both ways.

You decided this based on what? WWE hasn't ever been in this kind of situation before. Besides, I think this will be more of a tweener/tease heel for awhile as Punk can easily justify his actions and slowly descend into evil. I think Punk beating Rocky after snapping and beating the fuck out of him with a chair (ala Austin @ WM17) would be just as effective as being a babyface beating him clean especially since Austin/Punk is a good possibility at Mania and Punk going over would completely cement him as "the man". Kinda wish they booked this for Survivor Series instead of the Rumble, but I guess The Rock's schedule is what it is. Also, The Rock showed he can't work a "shoot feud" all that well, so a heel punk will give him more to work off of and Punk can do anything on the mic.

The Austin beating the fuck out of Rock with a chair to win thing only worked because they both went in as a face and Austin turned heel and aligned with McMahon. That's what made it effective as a WrestleMania moment. There's nothing special about a heel beating a face by hitting them with a chair.

Are you arguing that CM Punk wasn't "put over"? He is the hottest thing in wrestling and is over like fucking crazy. Jericho/Punk had a shitload of anticipation. Punk/Rock will be red fucking hot come the Rumble, and if they do pull the trigger on Punk/Austin...it will headline WrestleMania XXIX. WrestleMania hasn't been a "1 main event" show in quite some time, so I consider Punk/Jericho a WrestleMania main event even though it didn't go on last and didn't have the most build out of the 3 main events. The problem isn't the faces, it is the heels. There hasn't been a new HEEL that has been on Cena's level since 2005. Right now, WWE has Dolph (who will be a babyface come WrestleMania), Cody, and Wade Barrett as guys who are heels close to being on that level but they aren't. CM Punk is the perfect guy to turn heel and make the biggest/most legitimate thread heel since Triple H. I also think you are underestimating how much people love The Rock. Punk/Rock screams "Rock/Hogan" where the fans just love the fuck out of the legend and cool new main eventer be damned. This is perfect because it easily plays into CM Punk's character and the justification for his heel turn. He thought he was the voice of the voiceless, etc. but the people are still the same stupid fucking sheep who don't want to be saved, they just want to be led.

Indeed. The Rock being awkward in promos and hammering the same insults for weeks will help build up to the big match to put Punk over alright...

Punk beating the fuck out of The Rock with a chair could easily have a huge impact and cement him. I hope they make Punk more of a Tweener, but I don't know if Punk will get cheered equal to The Rock the more they interact and stuff building to the Rumble even if he is a face.

Adult wrestling fans (who aren't fans just because their kids are) put Punk over as the hottest thing, but the majority of Cena fans (who apparently are the majority of the ratings in their peak periods) don't see it that way. These are far more confusing times than the prime of Austin, the Rock, and Hogan, there is alot more diversity amongst fans, but Punk is still second as far as fan-base.

Do you really think Punk vs Jericho could have closed out WrestleMania last year and not left an anti-climactic WrestleMania ending? Really?

If not, that should tell you that Punk is not "over" like he needs to be. He's over compared to the current crop of wrestlers. Rock and, yes John Cena blow him out of the water as far as guys for a legit WrestleMania main event feel.
