The tackling so far this season has been absolutely shocking. Really pissing me off as I prefer low scoring defensive slug fests to 40-40 shootouts.

Ravens play the chiefs in kc week 5, no way Charles goes off for 200 since the run defense is still decent.

Week 7 though is gonna be a slobber knocker in Houston..suggs is eligible to return for that game off the pup list, whether he can or not I dont know.

They have changed the rules and yet players are still running out there playing balls out.

At least 3 times a game I see a hit and I'm immediately sure that someone is dead from the hit.

It's going to take someone to physically die on the field before any drastic changes are made and I get the feeling that's going to happen sooner rather than later.

The increase in roughing the passer, pass intereference, and fines for hits that aren't flagged during the game are the ones I'm talking about.

I dunno what's being said anymore.

I'm saying the game is still incredibly violent even with the fines and rules that have been implemented to "protect the qb" over the past few years. In order for a drastic change in the rules like a "7 on 7" or "Pro Bowl style" to happen someone is going to have to physically die on the field and that is very close to happening each week because the game continues to be violent.

Exactly. Those hits probably would have been flagged had their been experienced refs and then a fine on top of it. A flag is not needed for a hit to be considered fine-able if the league deems it to be in violation of the defense-less receiver rule.

The league is asking way too much of these refs. Learn all the rules and along with the injury-related rules. It was hard enough for the experienced refs to get it all down for the last few seasons.

I'm glad you counter my saints have a shitty defense this year with the number of championships they've won in the last 10 years with defense that that was still bad..if the ravens defense had an offense even 60% as good as the saints have had, they probably would have won at least on more super bowl in the past 10 years, just like I could probably say if the saints had a decent defense to go along with their offense they might have more than 1 super bowl too.

And its funny that RIGHT NOW the ravens have a better defense and offense than the saints do

This seriously needs to be addressed and this idiot ref needs to never ref a fucking game again.

Not only did he throw the hat right into the play... but Ogletree didn't even come CLOSE to stepping out of bounds on the play. That's not even a "poor officiating" thing. It's a stupid fucking human being thing. Either that or the guy was playing Ogletree in his fantasy football game and freaked out and could only think to throw his hat.

Sadly, as I was typing that last part as a joke, I realized that it's completely possible...
