I noticed there was no pop when they panned to him. Of course I knew there was no way the crowd could see Ryback and not pop like CRAZY, so the only explanation was that he was not on the screen.

I remember being at a Raw in the mid 90s when they just had the big RAW letters and a tiny little screen in front of it and while the Undertaker was wrestling, Diesel was backstage destroying his casket. But we couldn't see that screen so we had no idea. Then when I was watching Superstars or Livewire or whatever it was they recapped Raw and I was like HOLY SHIT HOW DID I MISS THIS THIS IS HUGE

Apparently WWE doesn't even think the end segment was that big of a deal because there's barely a mention of it on the website. No headline, no photo. There's a just a little blurb at the end of the Raw results.

I liked the Ryback/Punk staredown. It takes me back to the days when I was a mark and literally anyone could "challenge" the champion. Screw anyone being all like "urgh, Ryback's not ready" blah blah blah.

Ryback is a fucking machine! He's a huge fucking beast, and he's gone from squashing jobbers to basically standing up to the WWE CHAMPION CM PUNK in a staredown that oozed of "FUCKING BRING THIS SHIT ON NOW!"

I liked it.

Also pretty certain if that last backstage segment was shown on the screen to the live audience, there'd have been a huge pop for Ryback.

P.S. What was with Foley literally dying? Did I miss something? I thought Punk just took his leg out.

Yeah it wasn't everyone thought it was over, half the people left before the dark main event.

Although I think having the fans not see it added a bit of something to that segment that I liked.

I don't think they want Ryback to miss a good Mark Henry feud on the way up. He did just beat The Miz though. Which is no surprise, but it means he's worked his way up from no-names.

I minded him looking like an idiot. They were doing so good with the fun loving but badass babyface thing with him for a while. They'd rather make Big Show look like a monster again for a month or two than give a little effort into the long-term character build of someone else. Terrible.
