That situation at the end of the half was what I was talking about with a Lions game a few weeks ago. 9 seconds left and Buffalo has no time outs. There's no way they're running it. They're going to take shots to the end zone until there's like 3 or 4 seconds left and then kick the field goal.

So there's no reason for the defense not to just be all over the receivers and blatantly interfere just to keep the receiver from catching the ball. Buffalo loses the time for the play which is the important thing and it does Miami no harm at all.

PI is a spot foul. It'd stop the clock and potentially move them extremely close. The game can't end on a defensive penalty, so you could give them good field position with an untimed down. Why make even risk giving them an easier shot down field? Just play solid soft zone coverage and make him throw it away or throw it underneath. Just as effective in milking the clock without risking the "You dumb son of a bitch!" penalty.

And you're not trying to end the game on a defensive penalty. They're at the 1. No timeouts. They need at least a FG but they want the TD. It doesn't end the game but the time that ticked off during the play doesn't get put back on the clock. So they'd take the penalty... The ball wouldn't move closer since they're already at the one... but now they lost the seconds and have to kick the FG anyway.

They should just run QB Sneak or dive and show they have a set of balls after the first time you do that. Teams don't do enough under center 4WR sets. You can't load the box on the goal line and play the pass effectively. Sneak/Slant check.

Yeah they changed last year to the white helmets (was red for 20 years) and a lightter blue top, white pants.

Then the white jersey are very old school and sexy as hell. Definitely love them. They are inspired by the 70s and early 80s uniforms before they changed to the red helmet and blue jersey from the super bowl years.
