Also, fun note. Last two years the patriots lost in the playoffs to a team that beat them in the regular season (giants/jets). Considering the jets loss was one of two losses and the giants loss was one of three, pretty interesting...they lost to the Ravens and 49ers this year...
Similarly, for the ravens they got swept in 08 by the Steelers and lost to them in the afc champ game (though they did beat the #1 titans after losing to them)and they lost to the patriots last year in the regular season and arc championship. In 09 they lost to the colts in the regular season and afc divsional round. In 2011 they split with the Steelers and lost to them in the divisional round.

The GM probably had gotten his hopes up about being the guy. And being this years Rooney Rule "candidate" probably didn't help his expectations. Hell of a drop to go from a "real" option for several teams HC to...the same job he had before for another team that's just as bad as the one he left

Now the NFL is going to EXPAND the Rooney Rule to include mandatory interviews for minorities for all coordinator positions, instead of just head coach/GM spots.

So dumb. There's all this outrage over Lovie Smith remaining unemployed after a 10 win season. The media is pretty much trying to pass off the majority of NFL owners as racists and I don't think there's any real proof to substantiate that claim.
